Moving In With Malaika Episode 6 Review: Things Heat Up Between Malaika And Nora Fatehi

Moving in With Malaika Episode 6 premiered on December 13, 2022, with a runtime of 27 minutes. The brand new reality show will centre around actress, model, dancer and VJ Malaika Arora. Created by Malaika herself, along with Banijay Asia, the show will give us an exclusive and up-close look at the life of the Indian celebrity.

The actress rose to fame for her appearance in the famous Bollywood song Chaiyan Chaiyan from the movie Dil Se.. along with Shah Rukh Khan. She has been in the public eye ever since, and her divorce from Arbaaz Khan, brother of Salmaan Khan, is one of the most talked about instances around the town. She has also been a victim of internet trolls following her dating news with Arjun Kapoor.

Hence, she has decided to take matters into her own hands and create a show that will show her true self.

Disney+ Hotstar description of the show reads:

ALL SET TO SHOWCASE HER TRUE SELF, MALAIKA WILL SHUT DOWN TROLLS IN HER QUINTESSENTIAL ARORA STYLE AS SHE OPENS UP ABOUT HER LIFE

The episode picks up from where the previous one ended. Karan Johar and Malaika go on a shopping expedition on the streets of Bandra. They arrive at an ordinary shop on Hill Road, and an enormous crowd gather around the place. Both celebrities made sure to let the viewers know that this activity was unusual for them, not shopping but going to a non-luxury store. Showing off their privilege in a sarcastic manner will leave the audience disconnected.

The apparent advertisements in the show do not go unnoticed. It is done in a very non-subtle way that interrupts the episode’s flow. Not just once, it is done twice in the episode, which feels like another YouTube video where creators advertise their sponsors.

Later during the day, she meets up with prominent dancer and choreographer of the industry, Terrance Lewis. They start to talk about various things that have been going on in their lives. Suddenly, Terrance informs her that someone special is also coming to join them.

Nora Fatehi appears on screen, and Malaika is left pleasantly surprised. Both celebrities get into a deeper conversation about the industry and the place of women within the fraternity. They start comparing how different things have become since Malaika first debuted. They refer to the earlier times as the “Golden Age of Bollywood” and discuss how the present times have become distasteful. It was an extremely enlightening talk that will help the audience understand the struggles women go through in Bollywood.

But things suddenly start to go south due to trivial disagreements among the celebrities. Nora walks away from the scene, which shocks both Malaika and Terrance.

Moving In With Malaika Episode 6: Final Thoughts

The new episode was rather entertaining than the previous ones. It had everything that is expected in a reality TV show. It had comedy, drama and more celebrities; the creators delivered exactly what the audience has been craving for a long time. It was also refreshing to witness a young celebrity with a veteran holding a significant conversation. They shared their different views and opinions of the industry.

As entertaining as it was, the audience will hardly find any relatability in the episode. It lacks substance and will fail to attract more audience with its content.
