Moonwalk Review

Moonwalk tells the story of two thieves who unintentionally get into a rivalry when they aim to capture the heart of the same woman. Their comic competition leads to a challenge being set up where they need to impress her with their robbery skills, by getting the most priceless treasure for her. Along the way, a past rivalry between their mothers is also reignited as they join their sons on this heist.

The chaos in the series is more than what is hinted above, however, most of it is just predictable and silly. The plot moves in a way that will make you shake your head because the forced comedy couldn’t be any clearer. Watching this show at 1.5x speed is what does justice to the audience because this show is just not worth the time.

The characters are badly written and need a lot more time to work on. While the actors have put up a good performance per their characters, you can find yourself feeling empathetic towards them for having to play these roles. There is absolutely nothing making sense in this film, so if you are into a mindless and stupid comedy drama then this is the show for you.

Meanwhile, the chemistry between the actors is seriously lacking in ways that almost make you feel like they have a rivalry going on behind the scenes. Everything feels so forced that you begin to question everything by the first few episodes. The twists and turns are also all so sudden which only worsens your experience with this show.

Then there are the song breaks that are really not needed, adding fuel to the fire of annoyance burning within you. As if Michael Jackson’s infamous moonwalk wasn’t suffering enough by having its name put up in the title, the actor is also performing it as a sign after every robbery. The choreography is so out of context and out of line that I cannot stop complaining.

But while many characters were annoying and lacking chemistry, two women stood out and delivered a performance that was worth the watch. Geetanjali Kulkarni and Sheeba Chaddha really catch your eye with their performance and the raging burning within them as they come face-to-face holding within them their years of enmity.

While they don’t share many scenes, they truly stand out when together and deliver a performance that becomes the only good thing in this show. The aura these two hold within them during these scenes is beautiful and will strike you well. But while their chemistry leaves you stunned, Anshumaan Pushkar and Samir Kochhar also have a rivalry going which doesn’t reach the same level. There’s is more like a catfight where no one’s really winning.

Finally, I have to talk about the sudden twists in the ending which have left me speechless. Just when I thought that things couldn’t get worse, the show proved me wrong and gave us such an abrupt ending that has only added to the annoyance I now hold towards this show. It leaves the door open for another season that I hope doesn’t happen any time soon.

Summing Up

Moonwalk has very little to do with Michael Jackson’s infamous moonwalk and comes with a plot that will leave you shaking your head. The characters are badly written, the plot is even worse, and it is better to save yourself from this show unless you like senseless comedy that isn’t even very good.
