Originally titled Build Up: Vocal Boy Group Survival, this Korean reality competition series (빌드업: 보컬 보이그룹 서바이벌) features a diverse lineup of 40 contestants, ranging from seasoned K-pop artists to aspiring idol trainees and musical performers. Notable participants include former DAY6 member Im Jun-hyeok, AB6IX’s Jeon Woong, A.C.E’s Lee Dong-hoon, WEi’s Kang Seok-hwa, and JUST B’s Bain.
Under the guidance of the charismatic host Lee Da-hee, the survival reality program aims to mold the final four contestants into members of a vocal boy group, offering them a coveted two-year contract. In the upcoming episode, we will witness the final outcome of the 3 vs 3 mission, followed by the introduction of the next challenge: a 4-boys-one-team mission. Before forming the team for 4R, they need to decide whether they want to retain the current team. Team retention will involve recruiting one more person since three were already selected in the previous mission. Participants who are dissatisfied with their team and wish to form a new one will recruit new members. This episode will increase pressure on the contestants as they must carefully consider what is best for them. It will also showcase their ability in team building.
Brief Build Up Episode 6 Recap
Episode 6 kicks off with a dynamic performance by BITSAEON, Kim Min-seo, and Bain’s team, captivating the audience with their rendition of KISS OF LIFE’s Bad News. Their seamless blend of vocal prowess, control, and rap showcased their immense talent. However, despite their stellar performance, Park Je-up, Seunghun, and Choi Su-hwan’s team emerged victorious in the round with an equally impressive showing, leading to Bain’s team being unexpectedly eliminated.
The momentum continued as TAEWOO, NEON, and Lim Sang-hyu took the stage, delivering a soulful performance of Choi Yuree’s Forest. They faced stiff competition from Hwang In-hyuk, Choi Haram, and Sunyoul, who flawlessly performed TAEYEON’s Drawing Our Moments, despite encountering vocal challenges. Ultimately, Hwang In-hyuk’s team clinched the win, advancing to the next round while others faced elimination.

The next showdown featured GEOUN, Kim Seo-hyung, and Jung Soo-min’s team against Ji Yeon-woo, Jeong Yunseo, and Park Ju-he. Both teams delivered standout performances, but GEOUN’s team emerged victorious, securing their spot in the subsequent round, while Park Ju-he’s team faced elimination.
Following them, Jaang In-tae, Jeon Woong, and Lee Min-wook’s team received favorable feedback from the judges for their impressive performance, leaving the audience eagerly anticipating the next episode to witness the remaining 3 vs. 3 mission performances.
