Mnet Build Up Episode 1 Preview: Vocal Boy Group Survival Competition to Kick Off This January

The Mnet Build Up Episode 1 Preview was released on January 15, following a previous teaser video that shared a glimpse at the star-studded judges panel and lineup of contestants for this upcoming K-pop debut survival competition series. Build Up Vocal Boy Group Survivor (빌드업 : 보컬 보이그룹 서바이버) is likely to follow the usual streak of such South Korean reality shows with 10 episodes under the hood of the first season premiering this January.

Participants will be seen fighting it out against each other to secure a spot in the final four-member lineup of a new K-pop boy group that will focus on the members’ vocal abilities more than anything else as suggested by the show’s full title too. The first episode is set to premiere on Mnet on January 26, 2024, at 10:10 PM KST. Here’s what we know about the series so far!

Although the full 40-member lineup hasn’t been announced yet, some previously featured singers from elsewhere in the preview video have definitely caught the eye of the audience. Jay Chang (also a member of ONE PACT) is one such participant whom the viewers are most looking forward to hearing belt out harmonies as he also starred in the 2023 survival show Boys Planet that facilitated the formation of ZEROBASEONE. The remaining lineup also consists of either idols from other groups or soloists, or models and trainees.
