Mixed by Erry Review: Good Music Always Wins

Mixed by Erry brings the 80s vibes back to life. There is something really special about watching this film, one of it is the sensational music and the story of how it is always an important factor in a film (and, in life) for one to enjoy.

The film introduces us to the titular character, who is the main focus of the film. Enrico Frattasio is a musical prodigy, his musical taste, sense and tone are so polished that it only takes him a couple of tries before he starts producing his own ‘mixes’. Erry’s talent and passion are what pushes him to create his mix tapes, something very iconic to the 80s and 90s musical timeline when the expression of love and hate both manifested through this. Be it giving your crush a gift or making your prom night special, mixtapes are the jam and Erry is the master of it.

Soon enough, Erry recognizes the heights he can reach with this talent. With the help of his brothers- Peppe and Angelo, Erry starts producing big. ‘Mixed by Erry’ becomes a brand he has created that supplies remixed music which, of course, everyone loves a little more than the original music that it is made of.

As Erry rises high in terms of fame and money, there are people who are trying to make sure piracy does not overwhelm the music industry with a downfall. Thus, starts a series of events- catch and run, hide but create and more, where the film really takes off to give us a story that isn’t completely new but, still enjoyable.

One of the shining factors in the film has to be the cast. Luigi D’Oriano is perfect as Erry as he plays the character with precious nuances that gives it the extra edge. As calm and focused as he is, the brothers- played by Giuseppe Arena and Emanuele Palumbo are the opposite poles with one being anxious and the other impulsive. The trio make up for a fun watch and their interaction and differences are what add a certain oomph to the film.

But being a musical drama, it is, of course, the soundtrack that helps the plot move forward and the viewers enjoy the film to the fullest.

Mixed by Erry: Final Verdict

Overall, Mixed by Erry is a light, fun watch with good music and acting. Netflix’s issue with making everything fast-paced has gotten into this film too. So, unfortunately, there is an unwanted rush that makes the journey through this movie a little discomforting.

Mixed by Erry is now streaming on Netflix. The runtime for the film is approximately two hours.

  2. Maybe if you could write some proper English we might understand what you’re trying to say…not that any critical opinion of yours could ever be valid.
This was an excellent movie based on true events. It was lighthearted, funny and well executed.

  3. The film’s last scene is not in court. Evidently you missed the credits. At the end of the credits is the revelation of the “mole”!
