The story is filled with action, drama, and a touch of laughter.
Mission Cross Ending Explained
Captain Kang Mi-seon serves as a dedicated detective in the major crime unit of the police, while her husband, Park Kang-moo, manages the household. Kang-moo, who is deeply devoted to Mi-seon, takes care of all domestic responsibilities, allowing her to focus entirely on her demanding job. His caring nature and exceptional support make him an ideal househusband.
During the day, Kang-moo handles tasks like driving children to school, while Mi-seon is busy apprehending criminals. Her team includes Hyung Sang-ung, Hun-Ki, and Dong-Su. After successfully dismantling a drug operation, their next case involves a woman who was attacked, fell from a rooftop, and was subsequently shot. Although the woman survived, Mi-seon instructs her team to report her death to the press to protect her from potential further attacks.

Did Park Kang-moo and Kang Mi-seon’s Mission Succeed?
While investigating the trading company connected to the victim, Mi-seon discovers that the woman had hidden a USB drive with critical information in a locker before the attack. Meanwhile, Kang-moo encounters a woman named Jang Hee-joo, who is being chased by several men. Recognizing her, Kang-moo intervenes and demonstrates his advanced combat skills. Hee-joo has a history with Kang-moo; they both served as agents for the Défense Intelligence Command. During a mission in Russia, their team faced a tragic incident, leading to Kang-moo’s dismissal due to an unsanctioned operation.
Hee-joo reveals that her husband and their former colleague, Kim Jung-san, are missing, but asks Kang-moo not to get involved. Misunderstandings arise when Hun-ki and Dong-Su see Kang-moo with Hee-joo and suspect him of infidelity. They report this to the head officer, but Mi-seon dismisses their concerns.

As Mi-seon delves deeper into the trading company, she finds that all employees have been attacked recently and that Kim Jung-san is missing. Kang-moo learns from Hee-joo that Jung-san was kidnapped, and she has received recent correspondence about the case. Surveillance footage from the locker facility reveals Jung-san, suggesting a link between his case and Kang-moo’s involvement with Hee-joo.
Kang-moo and Hee-joo meet with a source at a hotel, and Mi-seon, accompanied by Hyung, follows them. Although they don’t confirm the affair, the source discloses that Jung-san was investigating an illegal defence procurement scheme involving a figure known as ‘General Park.’ The USB contains crucial account files related to the scheme, which General Park is desperate to obtain. Jung-san’s kidnapping is linked to this case.

Kang-moo and Hee-joo locate Jung-san, who is being tortured, and plan a rescue. Mi-seon, still uncertain about her husband’s relationship with Hee-joo, has Kang-moo’s phone cloned to track him. During the rescue, Hee-joo, revealed to be General Park, orchestrates the operation to secure the funds for herself. She planned the rescue to ensure Jung-san would disclose the USB’s location when he felt safe.
A confrontation ensues when the doctor working for Hee-joo attempts to kill Jung-san, who calls Kang-moo for help. He tells Jung-san that he was motivated by his desire to assist Hee-joo and her husband, only to learn that Hee-joo disappeared after Jung-san’s discharge.
In the chaos, Mi-seon seizes the USB, transfers its contents to Kang-moo’s phone, and destroys the original. She is captured and taken to a medical facility for torture. Hee-joo threatens to kill Kang-moo unless Mi-seon reveals the files. Mi-seon divulges that the files are on Kang-moo’s phone, prompting Hee-joo to order Kang-moo’s and Mi-seon’s deaths.

Kang-moo manages to fend off the assassin and rescues Mi-seon from the facility. After their escape, Kang-moo explains his past to Mi-seon, who reassures him that understanding each other is part of their marriage. Reconciled, they pursue Hee-joo, infiltrate the bunker where she is transferring the funds, and reset the transfer by cutting off the power. Hee-joo escapes, but Mi-seon and Kang-moo recover the files and make their mission ultimately succeed.
Despite the challenges and misunderstandings, they face, they manage to thwart Hee-joo’s plans. They infiltrate the bunker, prevent the illegal funds from being transferred, and recover the crucial files. Their efforts lead to the resolution of the case, and although they are briefly detained by the military, they are later cleared and resume working together on missions. Their successful mission underscores their commitment to justice and each other and at the end we get to see that six months later, the couple resumes working together on missions.

What Happens to General Park?
General Park, who is revealed to be Jang Hee-joo, ultimately faces defeat. After orchestrating the rescue operation to obtain the USB and securing the funds for herself, Hee-joo’s plan falls apart. Kang-Moo and Mi-seon manage to reset the illegal transfer and recover the files from the bunker. Hee-joo attempts to escape but is pursued by the couple.
In the end, Hee-joo is forced to flee, leaving behind her plans and the stolen funds. The military apprehends Mi-seon and Kang-Moo as they hand over the recovered files, but Hee-joo’s escape signifies the collapse of her scheme. The authorities will likely pursue her further, but her immediate plans are thwarted by Kang-Moo and Mi-seon’s successful intervention.
