Mismatched is a romantic-drama web series directed by Akarsh Khurana and Nipun Dharmadhikari, written by Gazal Dhaliwal and is based on Sandhya Menon’s When Dimple Met Rishi. The series stars Prajakta Koli, Rohit Saraf, Vihaan Samat, Rannvijay Singha and Vidya Malavade and Mismatched season 2 has 8 episodes, each with a runtime of around 40 minutes.

Mismatched just dropped its second season, and with Dimple and Rishi’s relationship having left off on a rather low last season, I am sure fans of the cute couple really wanted to know where the two are in the present. Plus, who leaked Dimple’s app and what was the motivation? What happened between Zeenath and Professor Sid? Does Anmol come out of his anger and become a better person? Don’t worry. We have all the answers!
Mismatched Season 2 Ending and Recap
What Happened to Rishi and Dimple?
As Mismatched season 2 starts, we, along with Dimple, are a bit confused – now that she kissed Harsh, where does her relationship stand with him? Well, of course, Harsh catches feelings for Dimple as they spend more time together on their project and eventually, they get into a relationship.
The relationship turns out to be rather cute and surprisingly healthy, with Harsh being understanding and caring of Dimple’s struggles and giving her space. Unfortunately for Dimple, things aren’t as easy, and she still has some major feelings for her ex, Rishi.

Rishi, in turn, gets into sort of an awkward relationship with his stepfather’s assistant, but it’s clear that his eyes are only for Dimple as he constantly lashes out and is angry whenever he sees her with Harsh. In the end, however, after Rishi realizes his true feelings and comes to accept them, Dimple too understands that although he loves Harsh to some degree, her true feelings are for Rishi, and after a rather emotional and painful breakup, the two get together.
Unfortunately, bliss is only for a moment for these two as a famed recruiter’s rather negative thought process forms a wall between our lovebirds, and as Rishi scores the lucrative internship, Dimple pushes through the feelings of being left behind once again for a job that she dreamed of since she was a little kid.
Who Stole Dimple’s Code?
In the last season, the major cliffhanger that we were left with was that someone leaked Dimple’s code for her very interesting app called AntiSosh. In Mismatched season 2, after spending a good amount of time trying to figure out who it could’ve been, Dimple comes across the heartbreaking truth that it was Celina who stole the code and handed it over to Krish and Simran. The latter two eventually gave it up to a company that claimed it as its own and refused to acknowledge Dimple’s pleas to give her credit for it.
But why did Celina do it? Well, after Krish and Simran get to know that Celina is a delivery person, they blackmail her into doing this for them in lieu of keeping her job a secret. Plus, they also gave her Rs 25,000 for her share of the dirty work since she was also falling short of paying the hostel fees.
Celina, to her credit, tells Dimple the truth after a while. But, unfortunately, it comes too late since she gets to know the truth from Namrata just before Celina can tell her. It results in Dimple breaking down and throwing Celina out and telling her that they can’t ever be friends since she broke her trust.
What Happens to Anmol, Krish and Simran?
Anmol, after beating Momo’s teeth out early on in Mismatched season 2, is forced to go to therapy by Prof Sid. Once there, he resists for some time but eventually wades through his negative feelings regarding his inability to walk to come out a better person. It also helps that he eventually joins a support group where he meets a fellow support seeker whose small moments of love and attention help him overcome his hatred for himself. He even apologises to Momo in the end!
Unfortunately for Simran and Krish, their relationship goes down the drain after Simran learns from Anmol that Krish has been cheating on her. Krish blames her for not having sex with him, due to which he had to seek intimacy elsewhere. As she goes down the rabbit hole of grief and despair, she tries to shame Celina, revealing to everyone that she is a delivery person. However, Celina takes that on like a champ and wins everyone’s heart.
In the end, Simran and Celina make up and Simran decides not to doubt herself or her body and love her for who she is. She even decides to break up with Krish after she realizes that he needs the idea of a perfect girlfriend and that he doesn’t really love her for who she is as a person.
Will Rishi and Dimple Stay Together?
Mismatched season 2 ends on a cliffhanger, with Rishi getting the internship, it’s uncertain how Dimple will handle the rejection. However, with her parents and Professor Sid’s encouragement, it seems like she will have a better view of life and will be able to realise that better things are waiting for her and that this isn’t the end of the world for her.
For now, though, they are together.
