Mind Your Manners Review
Sara Jane Ho, you are a perfectionist. Mind Your Manners is a journey of people who were ready to create a different identity for themselves. Most of these people were ladies who wanted to become classier, and I find nothing wrong with that. They admired Sara’s elegance and wanted to learn that from her.
As for the mentor, I have officially become an admirer. She does not demean any of her students, instead, she is observant. Sara’s dedication can be seen when she individually visits her students’ homes and understands her assignments. She teaches them self-acceptance as the first step of their transformation.
Her definition of etiquette is “to make people around you comfortable”. She wants her clients to fit in. As the saying goes, “When in Rome, be a Roman.” The phrase “fitting in” can be problematic for some people, but the way it is talked about in the show does not provoke me in any way.
“Change is hard to accept.” Sara Jane Ho’s admits it, and I appreciate that after her clients’ makeovers, the show makers recorded their original, confused and hesitant reactions instead of the usually staged cheerful reactions in most makeover shows.
If you’re someone who loves aesthetic settings, opulence and classy ensembles, I recommend this show to you. It’s like a Pinterest board. If you’re someone who wants to get the tips and tricks of dating, career building, fine dining and dressing, I would highly recommend this show. Sara teaches you Balance, Grace and Self-acceptance. She addresses the issues at hand and takes the required approach.

I would have liked it a little better if the show had a linear approach. There were small clips and snippets from her classes which looked repetitive because most of them were the same lessons. These clips were educational, but they disturbed the flow of the show. I also had a little problem when she seemed to impose her own beliefs on her students. It could have been hurtful for them, but then again, her students placed their trust in her when they signed up for the course.
I like the fact that the host introduced her students to a group of her other students and gave them a platform to practice their new skills.
Sara Jane Ho has become one of my favourite lifestyle coaches. I have never seen someone eating gonads with so much grace as her. It was weird, but she did it with finesse.
The show also highlights some major issues like Bullying, Postpartum anxiety and the sacrifice of a dedicated mother. Jane Ho helps her students through different phases of their lives and gives them a better perspective. She did not completely change them but introduced them to a different side of themselves.
Overall, I recommend this show to everyone who wants to “elevate their lives”. Sara Jane Ho is a trustworthy mentor, and you can learn a lot from her classes.

I liked her approach for most things but I think she might need to take some professional development classes in cultural competency and sensitivity. Bringing a scale to a woman struggling postpartum? Hiring non Black hair/makeup artists to give a young Black woman struggling with self-love, self-acceptance etc? I agree with you for the most part she’s respectful of her clients but I think she’s lacking in a lot of other departments.
I absolutely loved it! I love how gracefully critics individuals, but not in a mean way! We all need to be her students! She needs to be in everybody’s life! I would love for my soon to be ex-partner be her student because he definitely has not been minding his manners!
“Non black hair/makeup artists” who work on everyone and do it well enough to serve the celebrity elite of color or not. Rather judgmental to think a skilled hair/makeup artist isn’t going to or can’t learn to work with all possible clients.
