Mili Trailer: Janhvi Kapoor is Put to a Chilling Test for Survival

Janhvi Kapoor stars in the upcoming survival thriller Mili, based on real events, releasing next month. Produced by Boney Kapoor and directed by Mathukutty Xavier, the Hindi release is but a remake Malayalam film Helen, helmed by the same director. Co-starring Sunny Kaushal and Manoj Pahwa, the movie is all about the titular character being stuck in a freezer and her fight for survival thereafter in dire conditions.

Zee Studios released the full trailer of the movie coming to theatres soon, and it shows Kapoor in a race against time, with no certainty of life in sight. A.R. Rahman taking over the film’s music and Javed Akhtar joining along for the lyrics promise only the best results to come out of this project.

The trailer begins with Kapoor introducing her character and her unfeigned relationship with her father (Pahwa). Eventually, she applies for higher education opportunities in Canada, a long way from home. Kaushal is brought into the mix as Sameer, her love interest in the movie.

Working at a fast food joint, Doon’s Kitchen, the titular character gets locked inside the kitchen’s freezing storage unit. Her whereabouts are unknown to everyone dear to her and soon the news of her gone missing is reported to the police. An investigation is put in motion that digs into her past interactions while the woman herself is trapped, with degrees falling down considerably below optimum living conditions.

Struggling to keep herself alive with the bare minimum that is available to her inside the enclosed unit, she tries her all to not die. On the other hand, her father starts to lose his calm and composure, worrying about his only daughter’s well-being. The heart-wrenching tale is all set to break us all emotionally with Kapoor delivering her most heartbreaking storyline to date.
