Mieruko Chan Episode 12 Title

Mieruko-Chan is a comedy, horror, and supernatural anime that has received an anime adaptation as part of the Fall Anime 2021 anime season. The studio behind it is Studio Passione, which has had its hand in various horror and comedy anime in the past, including Higurashi no Naku Koro ni and High School DxD. Mieruko Chan Episode 12 Review- She Won’t Be Scared Anymore

Miko Hana Yulia

When an anime comes to an end, viewers cope with that in many ways. If it was a generic or average anime, most people just move on to do other things. However, if it turned out to be good, people either bide their time until the next season comes out. That would be only an option if the first season was popular, though. Sometimes, some anime leave people with no other choice but to move on to the source material, if there’s any. It is safe to say that if Mieruko chan Season 2 isn’t announced soon, I will go on to read the manga.

There are two reasons for that- for one, I really liked the show from beginning to end. The subtle storytelling style was fantastic, even though the rest of the show was playing catch up to the horror, which was phenomenal. Another reason is that I did not think the ending of Mieruko Chan Episode 12 did the show justice. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t a bad episode, far from it. It just didn’t resolve the story in any way.

Gold Deity Mieruko Chan Episode 12

We saw Miko use her third protection to save Zen from his own mother, and that was a phenomenal piece of storytelling that I highly appreciated, which you can read more about in last week’s review. However, while the latest episode featured the end of that particular saga, it didn’t build upon it and let it fizzle out. The show went into a standstill because it was the last episode of a whole season, and the show couldn’t introduce anything major unless it knew there was going to be a sequel.

What resulted was an episode that meant well and showcased a lot of what we have come to love about the show while featuring nothing that meant much. Zen was finally able to move on and find himself with the ghost of his mother gone, but that was about it. The segment with Miko trying to thank her divine protectors also amounted to nothing, as we were left with a well-meaning but an empty husk of an episode.

With that said, the aesthetic of Mieruko Chan Episode 12 was still fantastic, with this particular outing featuring the best soundtrack in the series to date. The episode was also very scary and even featured some very unique advertisement fake-outs. It remained terror-filled and horrifying to its end yet still maintained a very hopeful silver lining that put its future in a very positive light. I would love a season 2, for the show has earned it.

Verdict

Mieruko Chan Episode 12 was a somewhat empty finale full of horrors and hope for the show’s future. It was a fine endpoint for a fantastic series that left you yearning for more.
