Medalist Episode 10 Review: This episode of Medalist (メダリスト) showcased Inori being angry for the first time because of Rioh. Let’s see how this episode turned out.
Medalist Episode 9 Recap

After months of intense preparation, Inori finally takes the exam she has been working toward. She starts off well, but the exhaustion from her relentless practice leading up to this moment quickly catches up with her. Realizing she may have overworked herself, she regrets not pacing her efforts better. However, she also acknowledges that her transitions and glides feel smoother than ever, a testament to how much she has grown. Throughout the performance, Tsukasa’s teachings echo in her mind, guiding her movements.
Despite executing a remarkable routine, Inori struggles to keep up physically. Determined to match her mentor’s level, she pushes herself to emulate Tsukasa’s style with stunning accuracy, even leaving him astonished by her progress. However, the strain on her body becomes overwhelming, and after delivering a breathtaking performance, she collapses from exhaustion.

Unfortunately, Inori ends up spraining her leg, yet she still manages to secure the highest score in the tournament. However, she soon finds herself facing a fierce competitor, Emma, who brings an equally intense passion to the ice. Emma delivers a mesmerizing performance, blending power and grace in a way that captivates everyone. Watching her, Inori realizes just how skilled Emma truly is. Without much surprise, Emma claims first place with ease.
Medalist Episode 10 Review And Recap

Today’s episode starts with an unexpected time jump to the second year of Inori being a skater. She has become much more confident in her strokes and has since evolved exceptionally. She again becomes the winner at the level 5 women’s free skate tournament. Not only that, but she also entered her 6th grade and passed her 5th batch test. Only after another level, she will be able to skate on the same level as Hikaru.

However, Inori has yet to meet the biggest obstacle in her path. It is the double axle move, which is a must to pass level 6. Many even quit becoming a skater because they cannot perform it. But, before she can achieve that, she gets joined by an unexpected companion. And it is none other than Rioh, who was extremely rude to her in their first meeting.
Apparently, some things happened, and now he must get coached under Tsukasa, along with Inori, for some days. But, it is very difficult to coach someone like Rioh because of his premium lineage. On top of that, Rioh is also extremely rude and doesn’t really think much of anyone other than the people he cares for.

He becomes the catalyst for Inori to be more motivated than ever before because of his blatantly disrespectful remarks. Inori doesn’t really mind if somebody insults her, but when it comes to Tsukasa, she is as protective of him as he is of her. This is why when Rioh starts to badmouth Tsukasa for no reason, she becomes absolutely furious and promises that she will be better than him and go on to compete on the same level as Hikaru.
Verdict

Today’s episode was really good, and it depicted the path that Inori will take. One thing is certain; Inori is definitely growing at a rate that is alarmingly fast. Even Tsukasa acknowledges that she is growing exceptionally.
However, I especially enjoyed how Inori became very certain that she would win after somebody dared to utter bad things about her beloved coach. She’s finally motivated enough, and we will see her go off.
