In today’s episode, the home cooks are taken out of the show’s kitchen to Powai Barbank, which is a food truck park. It is revealed to be a team challenge where the 9 remaining contestants, except Kamaldeep and Aruna, will be divided into three teams. The teams are already divided by the judges – who reveal them.

The first is red team which consists of Nayanjyoti, Priyanka and Suvarna. Second is blue team which consists of Gurkirat, Deepa and Santa while third is green team which includes Nazia, Priya and Sachin. They will have to run three different food trucks but the question remains is what they will be cooking today.
They are presented with a box that contains three cuisines written on miniature food trucks. Nayanjyoti is the first one to choose and he randomly picks Asian cuisine, followed by Gurkirat who picked Mexican cuisine and Nazia picked American cuisine. They were given 120 minutes to complete the cooking preparations and will have to sell their food to other people today.
Their are no team captains and the judges advise the teams to make enough batch of food that shouldn’t get over before the challenge. Also, they need to keep competitive prices for the dishes as the team with the most MasterChef currency will win the challenge. They can earn money by selling a lot of food and by earning tips as well.
The pantry remains open for the whole day, so the cooks don’t have to worry about the ingredients and they group up to decide the menu, they will be serving. The red team kept a limited menu with a tropical drink, veg/non-veg bao and prawn bibimbap noodles with chicken strips. Chef Ranveer advised them to keep a dessert option as well, looking at other team’s menu.
The blue team consisting of Gurkirat, Santa and Deepa decided to have watermelon mojito, loaded nachos, veg/non veg burritos and churros with a mocha sauce on their menu. Although they had a full menu, Chef Garima was worried about their speed of work, since most of their ingredients were not ready.
The green team which had American food menu, consisted of lemon ice tea and iced coffee, along with potato wedges, fried chicken with barbeque sauce, a corn salad and cupcakes as dessert. Chef Vikas visited their food truck and found the chicken to be uncooked and advised them to prep the food in advance, as they will not get enough time to cook once the guests start coming up.

After the given two hours, the guests start coming in and the judges welcome them by introducing their challenge. Soon after, the guests start lining up at the food trucks of their choice, however team red seems to be still cooking and refusing to take any orders. The reason behind it being their steamer not working, leading to their bao’s not being ready.
Final Thoughts: MasterChef India Season 7 Episode 27
The episode ended before we could see who won this team challenge, however, by the looks of it, team blue seems to doing good as they even started selling the food. In the preview, it was shown that many team’s food was completely sold out before the challenge ended and that could reflect badly on them, since that’s the first thing the Chef advised them – to stock up enough.
Even though they were asked to make something that would generally make them stand out of all the other food trucks, if they were really doing the business. But the menu created by the cooks is quite typical with almost no unique point or innovation in them. Team red did try to do something new but they really lack realistic goals and organisation, which always becomes the cause of their failure.

Sometimes it really feels like the judges have to teach them such basic things and in return they only get mediocre results. So far there haven’t been any wow or shining moments among the contestants that would make them worthy of winning the title. The home cooks really need to up their game and step above from internal politics/nitpicking to taking lead and creating something amazing.
