Mask Girl Ending Explained
What started all of this mess?
As a kid, Kim Mo-mi was someone who loved to sing and dance for accolades and to be known and revered by the masses. However, as she got older, her beauty didn’t match the standard, and she was ridiculed in talent shows in spite of having the talent to perform. This created a deep-seated need to be liked. When she grew up, thus, in spite of her 9-to-5 job, she went back home and lived an alternate life as a cam girl, dancing and singing in front of hundreds of fans.

Unfortunately, even when she was wearing a mask, she would get unsolicited comments about her beauty, and when she wouldn’t get the attention she craved from those she fancied in her office, her insecurity would showcase itself in the worst ways possible. Unfortunately, one day, she made the mistake of trying to find validation by meeting one of her cam followers, who tries to take advantage of her. In an effort to get away, a fight ensues between the two of them, resulting in the guy getting gravely injured.
In comes Ju Oh-nam, one of Mo-mi’s office colleagues who is fascinated with Mask Girl. Being an anxious introvert, he realises, thanks to his stalking tendencies, that Mo-mi is Mask Girl and starts to fantasise about her. Thus, on the day of the above-mentioned accident, Oh-nam gets to know from the chatroom that the guy is out to get her and isn’t interested in her otherwise. Unfortunately, when he reaches Mo-mi’s location, the guy is already almost dead, and after he makes her leave, Oh-nam kills the guy and cuts him up into pieces and stores him in his own house.
How did Mo-mi get pregnant?
After the mishap, Mo-mi quits her job the next day, enraging Oh-nam, who refuses to let this slide. He tries to get in touch with her, but in vain. When Mask Girl decides to perform her last live show, he appears on her doorstep and creates a ruckus. Mo-mi lets him inside and taunts him. Enraged, Oh-nam rapes her, promising to protect her while doing so. At first passive, Mo-mi, who has gone through with her plastic surgery by this time, takes the upper hand as he freaks out about her transformation and stabs him in the neck.

Unfortunately, this small time frame was enough for Oh-nam to impregnate her, and she decides to keep the child. Unfortunately, murdering someone can only get so far and thus, realising that she cannot run away any more thanks to Oh-nam’s mother fiercely on her tail, she gives her infant up to her mother and surrenders to the police.
Why is Kim Kyung-ja obsessed with Mo-mi?
Kyung-ja is a woman who has always been extremely controlling. He controlled his son to the point that he almost ran away from home and refused to communicate with her too much. However, when Oh-nam turns up dead, her pain and suffering get a hold of her, and instead of depending on the police to do their job, she takes it into her own hands to deliver justice. Of course, that gets a bit too much when she starts to stalk a child and ruin her life, but she was never really mentally stable.
Kyung-ja vs Mo-mi
In the end, Mo-mi goes to Kyung-ja’s house after making an escape from the hospital, where she finds her mother stabbed and her daughter tied to a chair. A fight ensues between the two women as years worth of anger and animosity finally get released. In the end, Mo-mi gets the upper hand, and it seems like she has finally gotten rid of Kyung-ja. Unfortunately, just as she’s about to give herself up to the police once more, her enemy comes back to haunt her once and for all.
Does Mo-mi die?
Yes, in order to save her daughter from Kyung-ja, she sacrifices her life and gets between Mi-mo and Kyung-ja’s fire.
