Mashle Season 2 Episode 7 Review and Recap – Innocent Zero Enters

Today’s episode was definitely one of the most hype and action-packed ones from Mashle‘s new season. But before we get into the actual fight between Mash and Margarette, we see some ominous figures or Innocent Zero himself hunting for Mash. But he is not alone, as he is approaching with his entire squad.
After that we move straight to the arena where the very intense battle between Margarette and Mash takes place. From the get-go, we see how Margarette has the upper hand in almost every battle. It is not like Mash cannot counter the magic that Margarette is putting in front of him, but it is just that the moment Mash beats Margarette’s moves, Margarette takes things up a notch. Who wins this fight is something you will have to find by watching the episode yourself.
The animation studio really outdid themselves in this episode, as we saw some good fight sequences. Not a single frame looked poorly done, and we really got some great close and long shots of both the important characters. Even the sound design was pretty good, especially when Margarette was using his magic, which essentially works with sound.
Another thing I want to point out is how well Margarette’s voice actor, Takehito Koyasu, who also voices the character of Dio Brando from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, fits this particular character. He mastered the art of speaking in a velvety voice but sounding menacing at the same time.
But although this episode was mostly action-heavy, that does not mean the comedy was lost from it. Especially on occasions where Mash was naming his moves as if they were magic spells, and Kaldo was the only one who seemed to pick that up. Also, the appearance of Mash’s favorite cream puff in a serious situation like this one left even Dott speechless.

Verdict
I love these current episodes from this season, which are getting more intense with time. Even the conclusion here promised a very interesting and deadly next episode. We are about to enter a serious phase where things will be crazier than ever.
So, I will definitely advise you to check this anime out if you have not yet. The first couple of episodes were not that engaging, but midway, things picked up quite nicely.
