As each week passes, we draw nearer to the much-anticipated event of the survival show. We now find ourselves in the fourth week, greeted by an exciting glimpse of the Make Mate 1 Episode 4 Preview. This Korean reality competition series Make Mate One (메이크메이트원), jointly produced by KBS and Makestar, highlights 36 participants, including idol trainees. Diverging from conventional survival programs that primarily feature trainees from entertainment agencies, MA1 shines a spotlight on ordinary boys without agency representation. The culmination of this journey will see the emergence of Makestar’s newest boy group sensation.
Leading the distinguished panel of judges are prominent figures deeply entrenched in the world of K-pop. Headed by EXO’s Xiumin as the host, the panel features Solar, esteemed vocal coach Lim Han-byul (Onestar), dance expert Kim Sung-eun, and rap mentors Hanhae, Vata, and Ingyoo. With their extensive expertise, they will offer valuable guidance and evaluation to the contestants, ultimately selecting a select group of finalists.

Brief Make Mate 1 Episode 3 Recap
The episode commenced with the revelation of individual rankings based on each contestant’s performance in the first stage show. It was disclosed that Jo Min-jae claimed the top spot in the rankings after his stellar performance. Subsequently, the rankings of all other contestants were unveiled, leading to the formation of two groups: Group A comprised those with odd-numbered rankings, while Group B consisted of those with even-numbered rankings.
Following this, it was announced that MA1’s next stage would be a boot camp aimed at fostering stronger bonds between the MATE GROUPS. Upon arrival at the location, contestants were divided into rooms, with four members sharing one room, including two from each group. The contestants engaged in various enjoyable activities and games.
Later, to everyone’s surprise, the Vate the Coach arrived and revealed that the two MATE GROUPS had to prepare a song performance within 24 hours. Group A was assigned We Are The Future by H.O.T., while Group B received Perfect Man by Shinhwa. Both groups enthusiastically began preparing for their respective performances.

On the day of the performance at M-Studio, the anticipation heightened as we were finally greeted by the host of the show, EXO’s Xiumin, who was absent in the first two episodes. His presence electrified the contestants and set the stage for an even more thrilling event. Following his introduction, we were introduced to the esteemed panel of judges, including the special guest C MATEs: La Chica’s Simeez and 1MILLION’s Harimu.
As the performances commenced, Group B took the spotlight and delivered a breathtaking performance that left both the audience and judges in awe. Despite facing challenges during rehearsals, they managed to exceed expectations, with standout performances from Jia Hao and Miraku, who commanded attention whenever they took centre stage.

Subsequently, Group A showcased their talent with equal fervour, delivering a performance that left a lasting impression. However, when the results were announced, it was revealed that Group A emerged as the victors, edging out Group B with their slightly superior performance. Overall, the evening was a testament to the dedication and talent of all the contestants, leaving everyone eagerly anticipating the next round of performances.
