Lina tries to outrun them to the best of her ability when she sees Katherine point the gun at her which ends her memory of the night. Right then, she gets the news that Katherine is finally out of the Locked In syndrome and able to communicate with her nurse which leaves Lina shocked and scared.

Lawrence tells her that they will take Katherine home and the two do not delay the work and get her on the way back to Rowling Manor before the nurse can stop them. Back at the manor, Lawrence has thought of how to get rid of Katherine when Lina gets a message from the nurse that it was Lawrence who tried to kill her and Katherine was only trying to protect her.

A flashback shows Katherine pointing her gun at Lina but is unable to shoot at her; that’s when she sees Lawrence speeding up towards Lina to hit her and takes a shot at him. Lawrence is stopped by Katherine while she is pushed down by her horse. She then gets up to find Lina when she falls on the road and Lawrence arrives in his car.

Katherine then begs him to let go of Lina because she is sure that he loves Lina, but he is not what she thinks. Lawrence gets inside his car and hits Katherine head-on and the flashback comes to an end.

This shocks Lina as she makes an excuse to get Lawrence out of the house after which she confronts Katherine about the same and sees her blink in agreement. She then calls the nurse and finds out that it was Lawrence who tried to kill her when the man walks back inside and continues with the preparations.

Lina now needs to get rid of him and sees Katherine blinking towards the knife in the kitchen and Lina sneaks one in her jacket before telling Lawrence that she wants to inject the medicine into Katherine. Lawrence believes her and hands over the syringe and the two approach Katherine when Lina shocks him by injecting the medicine in his neck.

Lawrence hits Lina back and is ready to inject the second syringe that he has prepared when Lina gets up and stabs the kitchen knife straight into his chest. The police soon arrive and take away Lawrence while the nurse arrives but does not reveal the whole truth to the police.

The story thus ends with some secrets staying buried while Lina finds out that she got the love from Katherine that she had been wishing for all her life.

  1. I and other people in other reviews see the ending as Lina going to jail since there is so much evidence in the mansion with her fingerprints and she kidnapped Katherine. So not sure what the nurse would do.

    • While there is ample evidence against Lina, I think the nurse wouldn’t reveal her hand in the crime as Katherine had tried to save her and now Lina is like the only family she has left. So based on these, plus the fact that Lina saved Katherine in the end will stop the nurse from sending Lina to jail.

    • lina’s fingerprints on the murder weapon coz she’s trying to save katherine and herself…it’s called self defense.. the nurse seems to be on her side seeing lina as a victim
