Locke and Key: Will There Be a Fourth Season? Here’s Everything We Know

Locke and Key Season 4 is an overwhelming demand by viewers that is really shaking things up. The third season of the show recently premiered on Netflix and left fans with a bittersweet ending that few loved and others hated. Since then, social media platforms have been flooding with the question of when is the fourth season coming out.

Based on the comic-book series called Locke and Key by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodríguez, the show is developed by Carlton Cuse, Meredith Averill, and Aron Eli Coleite. It stars Darby Stanchfield, Connor Jessup, Emilia Jones, Jackson Robert Scott, Laysla De Oliveira, Petrice Jones, and Griffin Gluck in the main roles. The latest season of the show consisted of eight episodes with a runtime of 40-50 minutes for each episode.

Locke and Key Season 3 covered, what we can call, the potential end of the show. It started off with the Lockes living their lives two months after the events of the previous season and how the entry of a few villainous entities disrupt their lives and they have to strive to save the keys, themselves and also the people they love the most. So, after whatever went down in the third season, can we still aim for a fourth one?

Will There Be Locke and Key Season 4?

Sadly though, this seems like the last trip we could have taken with the Lockes. While dropping the first look for the third season, Netflix announced that this will be the final season of the show. However, given we have seen how series like Stranger Things and Elite are coming up one after the other the cancellation of Locke and Key Season 4 is rather suspicious in its own way.

It also means that the entire source material will not get adapted completely as the comic book series by Hill and Rodriguez consists of several issues spanned over five years. As unfortunate as the news is about there not being a Locke and Key Season 4, one can always rely on the existing seasons to whip up the magical keys for us to cherish at any point in time.

  1. There needs to be season 4 and more it’s a great show I’m 54 years old and love the show so disappointing to see it end I hope it don’t end

  2. There needs to be a season 4… you hear a new key whispering at the very end of season 3 before the credits.. so how can they leave it like that when there will clearly be a new key?
