Little Women (작은 아씨들) is a Korean mystery thriller drama that revolves around the predicament faced by three sisters. The story follows their journey after they find themselves in the midst of a major incident that changes their lives forever. Directed by Kim Hee-won and written by Jung Seo-kyung, the drama stars Kim Go-eun, Nam Ji-hyun, Park Ji-hoo, Wi Ha-joon, alongside other cast members.
The 12 episodes show premiered on September 3, 2022, and releases new episodes every Saturday and Sunday at 9 PM KST on tvN taking over the timeslot previously occupied by Alchemy of Souls. Little Women episode 8 has a run time of 79 minutes.
Netflix’s synopsis of the series reads:

Little Women episode 8 starts off with Jae-sang giving the task of getting rid of In-ju to Do-il in order to solidify his trust in him. Do-il assures him that he will make In-ju willingly leave the country and then make her disappear so that no one will know what happened.
Later, Jae-sang tries to talk to Sang-a who shows that she has been subdued by him to make him let down his guard. Elsewhere, In-kyung is talking with a war veteran who tells her about Choi Hee-jae being part of a special force that was a group of dangerous soldiers.
The scene then shifts to his dinner with In-ju where he tells her that Hwa-young may be alive and living as her in Singapore. In-ju decides to leave for Singapore with him the same day. While at the airport, she calls In-kyung and tells her about her trip while also asking her to leave for Singapore soon after herself.

On the other hand, Hyo-rin hacks into the cameras in the house and collects everything necessary to escape. She then sneaks into her mother’s room to try and get her out, but Sang-a tells her that she has forgiven her father and they don’t have to leave anymore.
In Singapore, Do-il leaves In-ju at a luxury hotel where the Orchid Festival will be held the next day. Upon entering, the staff there show unusually warm behaviour towards her while calling her the most important person who has been bidding heavily for the orchids. She is unable to believe what is happening around her and just tries to take in the events of the day.
Elsewhere, someone breaks into In-kyung’s home and soon she finds out that it is Choi Hee-jae who has sneaked into her house. He is looking at the board she has made while trying to find out about the Jeongran society and he tells her that her aunt was not a member of the society as she left before diving deep into it.
He tells her that he needs to be on breaking news so that the news about the Jeongran Society cannot be suppressed by anyone. He has decided to kill Jae-sang and in this way, no one can stop him from appearing in front of the cameras. He shows In-kyung the weapons he has had for over 20 years and is sure that this is what he should do to save his son.
In-kyung is shocked by this and tells him that she will use the ledgers instead to bring him to the major news, but if she fails to do so then they will follow his plan.
On the other hand, In-ju goes to the places she saw on Hwa-young’s social media and is missing her. She then meets up with Do-il and they enter a cafe and show the picture of a woman’s back view whom they think is Hwa-young to the cafe owner. He asks them if they are playing a joke because the woman in the picture is none other than In-ju.
This both shocks and confuses the two as they go to the residence of the same woman. The whole way In-ju finds strangers greeting her as if they see her every day which scares her. The two soon come to the conclusion that there must be a woman who looks similar to In-ju who lives in Singapore and is capable of taking away the 70 billion won herself.
Do-il then tells her that they must attend the Orchid Festival to find this woman and they soon head back to the hotel to change into more appropriate clothes. Do-il is soon left awestruck by the dressed-up In-ju and adds a few pieces of jewellery to her before they leave to attend the bidding.

Once again, people attending the bidding are looking at In-ju like she is in a spotlight while Do-il tells her to act as natural as possible. The bidding for the flowers soon begins and Do-il tells her to bid as she likes as this will be billed to Jae-sang. She does as said and wins the bid on a very expensive orchid which makes her the centre of attention.
Later, she is surrounded by some ladies who continuously praise her until a woman arrives and tells her that she had just seen her in the washroom. In-ju is surprised by this and rushes to search for the woman whom she believes is Hwa-young but finds nothing.
Do-il stops her right then and a worker arrives with a note for In-ju which makes her believe that Hwa-young is alive. Elsewhere, Jae-sang questions In-hye about Hyo-rin sneaking into her mother’s room and talking about escaping. In-hye does not reveal the truth about Hyo-rin hacking into the cameras and instead tells him to not pull herself and Hyo-rin into the matters of adults.
Jae-sang only tells her that she has sent someone to Singapore behind In-ju and that tough times are ahead of her. After this, he goes for an interview where they bring him a surprise guest who is none other than Hyo-rin. This clicks something in his head but he maintains his smile.
In-hye quickly calls In-kyung and tells her that In-ju might be in danger because Jae-sang knows of her trip to Singapore and has sent some people behind her. On the other hand, Jae-sang questions Hyo-rin about the reason why she is here and gets to know that this was planned by Sang-a.
But looking at Jae-sang’s reaction she understands that she has been left behind by her mother who chose to escape alone. She gets another panic attack and is soon rushed to the hospital by In-hye. Hyo-rin tells her about what happened but In-hye is wondering how Jae-sang knew about their discussion of leaving for Singapore.
In Singapore, Do-il is taking In-ju to various banks from where they are withdrawing the money. She goes with the flow until In-kyung’s message telling her that Jae-sang is aware of her being in Singapore makes her alert. Before entering the last bank, she tells him that she is unable to trust him because after this the money will all be taken out and her safety is not guaranteed.
Do-il then hands her a gun and tells her that it is good not to trust anyone but the gun and money. With this, they enter the last bank but soon an old woman dashes into In-ju and hands her a note. In-ju is confused and looks to where the woman is pointing where she sees a woman in a yellow dress running away and she believes it to be Hwa-young.

She then sneakily reads the note which warns her that Do-il is dangerous and that she should get rid of him and follow the plan that has been noted in the letter. Soon, In-ju is able to make the run for it as enters the car waiting to take her to the place mentioned in the note.
However, when a car starts following them, the driver hits the speed and a chase begins until a truck comes out of nowhere and hits the two cars. In-ju then wakes up in the hospital, but in her moment of haziness, she sees Hwa-young who is telling her to get up and run with the bag.
After some time, In-ju wakes up and when she sees the shoes that Hwa-young exchanged her heels with when they went out for dinner, she believes that Hwa-young is alive and makes her way to the apartment. She then waits for Hwa-young while having the blue drink waiting there. On the other hand, Do-il is searching for her only to find out that she is missing.
Elsewhere, In-hye looks through Jae-sang’s computer and finds footage of from a CCTV camera in their room which is how he found out what Hyo-rin had spoken about with her mother. She then starts to look around and comes across a video that leaves her shocked.
Little Women Episode 8 Ending
Little Women episode 8 ends with In-hye showing Hyo-rin the footage from the day Hwa-young died and they see Sang-a leaving in a fur coat and yet arriving without one. They then make the connection between Hwa-young’s death and the model of the room they found in the attic which points out that Sang-a is the real culprit behind the murder.
Back in Singapore, the doors of the apartment open and In-ju rushes there thinking that Hwa-young is back only to see Sang-a entering in a yellow dress. This shocks her and now she truly believes that Hwa-young is dead.
Sang-a then reveals that this was all part of a secret play that she had directed which began three years back when In-ju first entered the company she used to work in. She blames In-ju for being poor and trying to reach the height where she is which made her fall into her schemes.

The people who recognised In-ju were all set up by her and this was all fun for her. Hwa-young too was a part of her play and was in charge of developing her character. Even though she was her favourite character, she seemed perfect to die at that time which was why she killed her.
This enrages In-ju but Sang-a tells her that she should be more worried about herself because she has prepared the perfect death scene for her too. In-ju then questions about In-hye, but Sang-a tells her not to worry because Hyo-rin’s attachment to In-hye will make her a part of the family.
In-ju starts to get sleepy and finds it ridiculous that this is happening and this is when Sang-a reveals that she has been drinking the blue orchid tea which is causing this effect. She will remain awake but not sleep because Sang-a wants her to witness her own death.
In-ju sits there defeated and asks her to show the 70 billion won, so Sang-a happily walks to the bag and opens it only to find a bunch of bricks inside.
Shocked, she turns around to find In-ju pointing a gun at her while she mocks the look on Sang-a’s face.
Little Women Episode 8 Review
There is no doubt that Little Women can give us the best yet most infuriating endings that bring a cliffhanger making it unbearable for us to wait until the next episode. This episode was simply marvellous and the shocking revelation really doesn’t fail to bring the best reaction out of us all.
The cinematography of this show has always been wonderful, but the character development that has taken place this week is the real highlight.
I’m not lying when I say that I almost thought Hwa-young has returned to the show because that is what this episode made me believe. I always thought that this dead woman is a mastermind, but to see that she was just a puppet really shook me to the core.
Now I believe that Sang-a loves to play around with people’s lives and Jae-sang is the one cleaning after her. With such messed up parents, I don’t think Hyo-rin is innocent especially after looking at her hack so easily today. Especially after her mother’s betrayal, she is bound to get messed up very soon.
This Kdrama really brings the thrills to my screen and I cannot wait for what’s more to come!
