After the Coldplay kiss cam incident last year, Kristin Cabot got the kind of viral fame that followed her to children’s school pickup, flooded her phone with 600 calls every day, and made her “unemployable.” Finally, she is ready to discuss everything.
If you missed it, in July 2025, Cabot used to be the Chief People Officer for the tech company Astronomer. She was seen swaying near her boss, CEO Andy Byron, on the Jumbotron during a Coldplay show in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The two ducked when the kiss cam found them. In front of the 55,000 audience members, Chris Martin joked that the couple was “either having an affair, or just very shy.” Soon, the clip went viral with over a billion views. As a result, Byron resigned, and Cabot stepped down.
But the latter didnt didn’t get to move on after the concert.
After an appearance at the PRWeek Crisis Communications Conference in Washington, D.C., Cabot talked a bit with TMZ. She is now presenting a seminar titled “Taking Back The Narrative.” After the outcry Martin’s remark caused, she was asked if Coldplay’s lead vocalist had ever followed up with her. “Nope. No,” she replied, “never did.” But it would be “great” if he did, she added.
Cabot was also asked about attending another Coldplay concert. “No, I’m all set,” she replied.
Cabot faced between fifty and sixty death threats, and she termed the paparazzi outside of her home a “parade.” She dealt with up to 600 calls a day during the height of the Coldplay storm. Her children feared for their lives and were too embarrassed to be seen with her in public. In The Times of London, she said that she was now “the most maligned HR manager in HR history.”
Also, according to Cabot, Andy Byron wasn’t totally honest with her. Cabot said that Byron had lied about his marital status in comments she made with Oprah Winfrey, saying that she thought he was going through a separation at the time. “He wasn’t the person he represented himself to be, to me — and lying is a non-negotiable for me,” she said in reference to a “big miss on honesty and integrity.”
Byron was later seen in photos still wearing his wedding band and has not made any public statements.
Cabot has also made it clear in an interview with The New York Times that she and Byron did not have a physical relationship. They had never been very close until the show. She confessed that she had had a few drinks, danced, and “acted inappropriately.” She also spoke about having a “crush” on her employer. She lost her job for it, but the burden was practically one-sided.
When Cabot reached Gillette Stadium that evening, her daughter texted her to let her know that she was at the same Coldplay show as her estranged husband, Andrew. For a moment, Cabot wondered if she would run into him with Byron. “I’m in Gillette Stadium, there [are] 55,000 people here,” she reassured herself. In retrospect, meeting Andrew would have been “better,” she said.
Getting therapy for her children, playing tennis for herself, and talking about overcoming digital pile-ons, Cabot is still healing. She has also blamed TikTok and people who “feed off the pain” of others’ suffering.
“The more pain someone like me is in, the more money they are going to make,” she observed.
