The Cannes Film Festival is an event to behold, with people coming from all over the world to celebrate cinema. In accordance, we compiled some of the Kpop Idols at Cannes 2023. Many of these idols were present at the festival, ready to make their debuts representing their country with enthusiasm. Some came as ambassadors for fashion brands, and others were here to represent the movie or television show they had recently made. So without any further ado, here are the idols who truly stole the show at the event.
Kpop Idols at Cannes 2023
BLACKPINK Jennie
As a cast member on the show The Idol, Jennie Kim from BLACKPINK was expected to appear on the red carpet. She looked stunning in an off-shoulder tulle-sleeve dress with white laces. Her hair was done up in a bow, and she looked incredibly French in the dress she was wearing. She wasn’t wearing any accessories, which is in line with the current trend in fashion, having the collarbone exposed. She looked brilliant at the premiere as well. She wore a checkered waistcoat and some low-rise pants, a classy move.
BLACKPINK Rosé
While Rosé was invited to attend the festival, it was tentative whether she would be attending or not. But as an ambassador for Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), she was invited to the premiere of the film Strange Way of Life, and she also stepped on the red carpet. She was seen wearing a long black dress in YSL fashion with a brilliant sleeve and ruffles that gave her outfit the vibes it needed.
BLACKPINK Lisa
BLACKPINK truly took over the 76th Cannes Film Festival because Lisa from the band was also present at the event. However, she was attending CELINE’s party at Cannes with other members from the K-pop and KDrama industry. We see her wearing a wonderful striped suit jacket with similarly patterned pants. Coupled with that, she also added a sheer shirt with ruffles in the middle. Her shirt doesn’t look striped unless seen in a specific light, and it is truly a marvel.
BTS Taehyung
Along with Lisa, Kim Taehyung also attended the festival party with CELINE. Both of them were seen wearing clothes in the same shade family. In this event, he was seen wearing a cropped black jacket with a deconstructed bow tie. Inside, he is wearing a pitch-black shirt with similar pants. The jacket and tie have silver borders which give his outfit the layers required to make an outfit complete.
Stray Kids Hyunjin
Seen hanging with Troye Sivan, this idol was at Donatella Versace and Dua Lipa’s fashion event at Cannes. We see him casually taking pictures with the people there and enjoying his time while wearing comfortable summer clothing. Hyunjin was seen wearing a beige shirt, darker beige pants, and copper jewellery that made up for all the minimalism he brought to his clothing. He was also wearing a bunch of long chains that drew attention to the deep V-neck very well.
aespa
While aespa is a renowned K-pop band, their appearance at the festival was largely a thank you to Chopard, the French jeweller that invited the whole band to the festival. They attended the red carpet before the screening of the film The Pot-Au-Feu. All of them were wearing long dresses, some even with gloves that made it a real cinematic treat to see.
BIBI
The idol also attended the Cannes Film Festival 2023 as an attendee for the movie Hopeless. She was also joined by the highly popular Song Joong-ki, who all made their mark on the carpet wearing black. BIBI was seen wearing a beautiful cowl dress with thin straps that truly gave the outfit class. Adding to that, her earrings were perfectly balanced with the outfit and so well done that it made her look ethereal.
Krystal Jung
This artist from the band f(x) was recently seen leaving Incheon airport to go off to Cannes. She attended the premiere of the movie Geo-mi-jip (Cobweb), in which she stars. She, along with many other actors, including Jeon Yeo-been, was also there. This is her debut at the festival. She is seen wearing a beautiful long light pink dress, shining in the light, probably silk, with a low cut back and round neck that features some other cutouts in the front. The red lip she is sporting ties her outfit together magnificently.
