King the Land Overview
King the Land (킹더랜드) is a rom-com Kdrama that brings the story of an heir and an employee who works at one of the hotels owned by his family. Directed by Im Hyun-wook, the drama stars Lee Jun-ho, Lim Yoon-a (Yoona), Go Won-hee, Kim Ga-eun, Ahn Se-ha, and Kim Jae-won, alongside other cast members.
The drama brings the story of the heir Goo Won who has been thrown into an inheritance war, and the happy Cheon Sa-rang, whose smile moves him like no other. As the two begin to spend more time together, a beautiful love begins to bloom in their story.
Lee Jun-ho was last seen on The Red Sleeve as Yi San / King Jeongjo, while Yoona played audience-favourite Go Mi-ho in 2022’s hugely popular Big Mouth. King the Land takes over the jTBC’s Saturday-Sunday 22:30 PM KST time slot previously occupied by Doctor Cha.

Gu Won and Sa-rang begin a wonderful trip together, unaware of the games brewing back at the hotel. Meanwhile, the two share promises and wishes, but will these wishes come true?
King the Land Episode 9 Recap
Gu Won and Sa-rang continue to spend warm moments together while the latter’s two best friends face hardship at their workplace after their hard work is met with nothing. The next day, the two continue to share the excitement of a secret relationship, however, things get out of hand when Sa-rang makes Gu Won sulk after screaming at him.
Later, his avoidance of her back hug leaves her surprised and angered. Gu Won realises his mistake and does not know how to fix the situation when he decides to take a surprise trip to Sa-rang’s grandma’s place. However, he arrives right when she falls and he rushes her to the hospital.
Later, Sa-rang too arrives at the hospital while scared for her only relative. She is then taken back to her grandma’s place by Gu Won who decides to stay for the night. The two then apologise to each other and make up after which Gu Won sleeps beside her. However, he is caught by the old lady the next morning who then takes him around the market, subtly letting others know of her grandson-in-law.
She then prepares a feast for the two before sending them back home, where they see Sa-rang’s best friend arriving with a lot of drinks. They then complain about all that has happened at their workplace which infuriates Gu Won who then makes Sang-sik plan an impromptu trip for the ladies under the guise of an incentive.
Unfortunately, Sang-sik himself joins the trip as well and almost reveals Gu Won’s true identity.
