Many BTS X Western artist collaboration news and rumours have caught the attention of the South Korean septet’s ardent fans, however, the latest one suggesting the possibility of Kim Taehyung and Lady Gaga working together is a flamboyantly jazzy case we all can get behind with the blink of an eye. So, why are the two artists suddenly in news together? Here’s what happened!
On June 21, 2023, BTS’ V, aka Taehyung, took to his Instagram stories to share a warmly appeasing throwback moment shared with the versatile American singer/songwriter/actor, Lady Gaga at the 2022 Grammys, as her song I’ll Never Love Again with Bradley Cooper plays in the background. The pictures capture the two sharing a heartwarming embrace, and those who’re familiar with Taehyung’s taste in music, know that this was probably one of the most glorious moments of the artist’s life.
Just as much as the BTS ARMY look up to V, he respectfully admires Lady Gaga too, especially since he’s already spoken of how much he cherishes her music owing to its jazzy inclinations. Previously, he’s even talked about the A Star is Born actor on one of his V LIVEs and how he often watched videos of her and Tony Bennett performing together. While Bennett is known for his rather traditional take on the music genre, Gaga always adds her own vogue and tinge of popping personality to concoct a new interpretation of the music style.
As the two singers can be seen hugging each other in the pictures that went viral last year, and have again resurfaced with Taehyung’s reshare on Instagram, fans are harking back to how Kim fondly addressed his love for Gaga’s music twist, and how he truly believes her to be “this generation’s jazz queen”. These mentions hit home especially if you know how much Taehyung, himself, has been on the path of pursuing the same genre of music. Additionally, in the past, he even posted yet another story of him listening to the jazz musical duo’s song It’s De-Lovely.
On many occasions, fans have caught him playing the saxophone and piano. Moreover, his flair of playing the former instrument actually precedes his BTS debut. So, for as along as audiences have known BTS V, they’ve also known about his love for this musical side. One of the Weverse magazine updates has also again taken back to this moment of him speaking about Gaga, and a few more latent interactions of the two singers/actors have surfaced recently, which has led the fans to believe that they may be hinting at the possibility of them joining forces for a mega jazz collaboration of the year.
Another recent update from the American star has further fuelled these claims as she has already announced that a “new special project” from her side is on the way, and she’s participated in the writing as well as the production process for the same. If this is pointing to what we think it is all about, and if the universe has indeed aligned with the interests of the BTS ARMY, then we could be getting a Kim Taehyung Lady Gaga collab after all.
