Kim Tae-hyung, aka BTS’ V has left the internet quizzing with these new images he has shared on Instagram. With multiple members of the band branching out, making music by themselves or joining the mandatory military enlistment, BTS is on a music hiatus. Meanwhile, other members of the band have been releasing solo music, which instead of being under the band name, is now under their own. BTS’ J-Hope made a similar development with the recent release of his mini-album titled Jack in the Box.
Now, V has been gearing up for a big announcement of his own and has been sharing some clues for the fans to pick up. The artist started off by sharing a close up of his face, throwing people off by making a casual post that swiftly becomes more cryptic when the next picture is him sitting in a loose fitted shirt and pant. Tae-hyung is surrounded by crew members, all working among themselves. Additionally, most of these crew members don’t look like they’re from Korea. This means that he must be on location somewhere else working on a new project.

The next picture is also a continuation from the same set. This time, BTS’ V is backlit, sitting in front of the window, which is the same angle as the following picture shows. It is a picture of the window with him staring into the distance from the inside. Coming back to the set, the next picture shows a night shoot, with crew members surrounding the center where the light is coming from. There is some smoke and a lot of people milling about in the picture.
Sharing a picture of the view from his bed, Kim Tae-hyung all but confirms that whatever he has been working on has been happening in another location. The vibe of the series of pictures is back to casual, when he shares a blurry selfie from a reflective surface in his room. However, the next image is the real kicker and has nothing related to music. In a still from Hotel Transylvania, we see the kid Dennis hanging from a pair of arms. There is no indication what this could be about.
It was even more confusing when Tae-hyung shared a video of a dad and his daughter playing guitar and singing You’ve Got a Friend in Me from Toy Story. While this could hint towards a possible animation appearance, the first few pictures don’t point towards that direction. This may be a blanket tease, subtly informing fans that there is a lot to come this year, and this is just a nudge in that direction. Fans continue to wait with bated breath for more information.
This would not be the first time Tae-hyung makes a solo project. With songs like Singularity and Stigma, he has made solo music for several BTS albums. Notably, he has also worked with a few Korean Dramas to create some original soundtracks like Sweet Night from Itaewon Class and Christmas Tree from Our Beloved Summer. Since BTS is not currently releasing any new music, this could mean that the artist is working on a solo album and will release it under his own stage name.
