Kaiser is a mystery-thriller TV series directed by Tanim Noor and stars Afran Nisho, Mostafizur Noor Imran, Reekita Nondine Shimu, Imtiaz Barshon, Shatabdi Wadudm and Sumon Anowar, alongside other cast members. The series has 9 episodes, each with a runtime of around 40 minutes.
Hoichoi describes the series as:
Homicide detective Kaiser Chowdhury takes on a double murder case that turns out to be much more than what meets the eye. Plagued by personal and professional demons, will Kaiser be able to get to the root of the mystery?
– Kaiser Review Does Not Contain Spoilers –
Kaiser is Hoichoi’s newest murder-mystery series that starts off setting the stage in its first episode with a grisly murder, some threats flying here and there and showing the quirky homicide detective Kaiser Chowdhury and somewhat of his background to ground us and understand him as a person.
Kaiser is rather childish and just a bit annoying but he is a good detective – probably one of the reasons why Kaiser is now divorced. Funnily enough, he mentions this as well, which I found quite funny.

That being said, Kaiser takes too long to get to the point. Its 40-minute runtime feels just too long and goes on and on. The series doesn’t trust its viewers to interpret some of the things that it’s showing and breaks down literally every scene to its bare bones. This results in the show feeling too long, although not a lot happens in such scenes.
For those who enjoy slow burns, Hoichoi’s Kaiser might be a fun watch – although it takes too long to get to the point, it also provides a lot of moving parts that open up slowly to reveal the truth hidden underneath. However, in order to get to those moving cogs and all that, it takes such a long road that you start to zone out after some time.
Slow burns are one thing, but being so slow that your audience gets lost on the way is a completely different problem. As the series drones on and on very, VERY slowly, the different ways this double homicide has more to it than meets the eye, you will have lost interest by the end of it.

Also, this isn’t a problem with the show, but the subtitles were not going on par with what was being talked about in the show. Although I know the language, people who don’t know Bangla will find it very difficult to understand what’s going on since the dialogues get badly jumbled up. It’s very confusing and annoying and those who are not familiar with the language will not understand what’s going on at all.
Afran Nisho is fine as the titular detective and plays his role well. His character is fleshed out enough to be interesting, although the length of the series will make you lose interest in the plot and the characters. Imtiaz Barshon looks somewhat chilling as an antagonist, but none of the bad guys seems to be scary enough to pose a huge threat to the runtime.
Summing up: Kaiser

Kaiser is a rather long and twisty watch that takes too long to get to the point. I think the series would have benefited from a shorter, crisper and more packed runtime than breaking down each and every scene and making us sit for it. If you like slow burns, you might be able to enjoy it somewhat. However, the series isn’t arresting enough for you to sit for 9 episodes.
Kaiser is streaming on Hoichoi.

U are a very bad reviewer ….. there is no point giving a bad review fir one of the original creation than remaking the old characters again and again…. Since it’s binge watching it hit a IMDb rating 8.2…… it deserves more because of its originality and acting…. So stop spreading bad reviews
Good review. Perfect!
I understand this review but like the verdict presented in it, this review too is too long and tedious
With due redpect, I completely disagree with you. Your review seems to be tunnel-visioned, and very hastily written without digesting the very essence of a Bengali detective thriller.
I sat in front of my TV and was on the edge of my seat until I finished the entire 9 episodes! I write screen plays. My dramas has been staged on semi professional theaters in USA.
Without going into the weeds all can say is, this is one of the best Bangladesh based murder mystery thrillers ever.
I appreciate Hoichoi for patronizing and broadcasting an outstanding piece of work.
Ok, Mr amazing writer. ???? Again, series and movies are subjective. Stop getting so agitated about a review. You went so far as to say that you are a writer and your opinion is so credible because your “plays” were acted in murica. Get over yourself.
