Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 21 Ending Explained
The episode commences with Mahito, Yuji, and Todo positioned in a confrontational tableau, poised for an impending and decisive clash. Despite being united in their opposition to the common adversary, Mahito, each member of the duo harbours distinctive strategies for contending with this formidable foe. Todo, with an augmentation in his formidable powers, successfully orchestrates a brief reprieve by effectively keeping Mahito at bay, thereby affording Yuji a temporary respite.
Regrettably, the respite proves ephemeral as Mahito swiftly overcomes Todo’s formidable defences, triumphing in their individual duel. Subsequently, undeterred and resolute, Mahito redirects his attention towards Yuji, seemingly intent on concluding the encounter with a relentless pursuit of his nefarious objective.
What is Mahito’s true form?
In a pivotal encounter, Mahito harnessed the formidable power of Black Flash for the inaugural time during his confrontation with Yuji. The profound state of focus induced by the esoteric technique facilitated a transient connection with the genuine essence of his soul. Motivated by this revelatory experience, Mahito, in an audacious display, invoked Black Flash once more, delving deeper into the recesses of his being. This iterative employment enabled him to discern and comprehend the authentic core of his soul. Subsequently, Mahito underwent a profound metamorphosis, transitioning into what he deemed his “true form”, an evolution that he passionately conveyed as a rebirth, articulating the profound transformation he underwent.

Did Mahito win against Yuji?
Despite the advantages accrued upon attaining his genuine form, Mahito remains susceptible to the ramifications of the damage inflicted upon him before its activation. It is noteworthy that Mahito bore the brunt of a Black Flash mere moments before undergoing this transformative shift. The timing of this formidable technique, occurring in close proximity to the initiation of his domain expansion, resulted in severe damage to Mahito’s soul.

Mahito astutely acknowledged Yuji’s proficiency in employing Black Flash to penetrate the formidable defence of the Instant Spirit Body of Distorted Killing. Wisely opting against hasty overpowering, Mahito strategically disabled the defensive technique on the left side of his own body, presenting Yuji with a vulnerable point to exploit in a counterattack. Regrettably, this tactical move proved counterproductive, leading to Mahito’s subsequent expulsion from his transformed state and ultimate defeat at the hands of a Black Flash infused with the entirety of Yuji’s formidable cursed energy.
