On their way home, Ok-kyeong hands the sisters two tickets to her theater performance, and it’s only then that they realize who she really is. However, their excitement is short-lived when their mother learns about the market incident. That evening, Jeongnyeon and Jungja attend the theatre performance by the Maeran Gukgeuk troupe, an all-women, women-run theatre company known for its captivating performances. Initially sceptical, Jeongnyeon is soon blown away by the sheer talent on display. The acting, singing, and overall production leave her completely mesmerized, and she becomes entranced by the magic of the theatre.

Unable to shake the impact of the performance, Jeongnyeon becomes determined to pursue a career as a theatre actor. She seeks out Ok-kyeong after the show, eager to learn how she can join the world of theatre. Understanding Jeongnyeon’s potential and desire, Ok-kyeong agrees to train her in preparation for the upcoming Maeran Audition in Seoul. The two of them meet regularly to practice various skills, and Jeongnyeon immerses herself in the rigorous preparation, eager to take the next step toward achieving her dreams.

However, just when everything seems to be going well, Jeongnyeon’s mother discovers her plans and takes drastic action to prevent her from pursuing a career in music. She locks Jeongnyeon in the house, forbidding her from leaving and warning her that singing will only bring her harm, although she does not reveal why.
