Even though Jeff Bezos was on a half-billion-dollar boat sailing the Galápagos Islands, he didn’t look particularly happy with life. This week, pictures of the 62-year-old Amazon founder and his 56-year-old wife, Lauren Sanchez, went viral. The newlyweds were expressionless as they cruised from their superyacht to an Ecuadorian beach. Bezos married Sanchez ten months ago.
According to body language expert Judi James, who analyzed the images for Irish Star, there were “fewer smiles than usual from the power couple.” James suggested that they were either taking the trip too seriously or that something was bothering them. Also, she claimed that Bezos tried to take a protective stance behind Sanchez, who was “posing like a Hollywood star.”
However, Sanchez made waves a few days before the release of these images when she spoke in an interview with The New York Times that was published on April 11. She said, “I would have another [baby] tomorrow,” when the subject of having more kids came up.
Though later a spokeswoman confirmed that Sanchez wasn’t pregnant, it didn’t kill the story.
Sanchez already has three children: a 25-year-old son named Nikko from her relationship with retired NFL player Tony Gonzalez, a 19-year-old son named Evan, and an 18-year-old daughter named Ella from her marriage to businessman Patrick Whitesell. In the meantime, Bezos and MacKenzie Scott are parents to four children. So, together, Bezos and Sanchez have seven children.
According to Sanchez, their June 2025 wedding in Venice was truly emotional due to their blended family. During it, each child gave a speech, which she claimed made “the wedding what it was.” And now, she is speculating about an eighth.
On the baby front, the Galapagos photos of Sanchez have conveyed an entirely different message. Sanchez’s notably toned abdominal area was enough to put an end to the rumors of her already expecting a child with Bezos.
In the same interview with the New York Times, Sanchez talked about her friend groups, including Kris Jenner and Leonardo DiCaprio, whom she had been acquainted with “since [she] was 25.”
According to a source who spoke to the Daily Mail, “between her friends and Bezos friends, they know a ton of eligible bachelors.” She has also reportedly taken on the role of an unofficial matchmaker in their social circles.
