Invincible Season 4 Review
The fourth season of Invincible is back to wow us once more with a complicated storyline and thrilling premise, exploring Mark and Nolan’s relationship further while leaving us to wonder what is in store for our young hero as a new issue emerges. Meanwhile, a war is brewing on the horizon that can alter the course of life as Earth knows it, making everything even more tense and thrilling as the episodes go on.
As with every season of the show, we see several villains from different “walks of life” arriving at Earth to take the planet over. The series does a great job of painting these different scenarios in completely new ways so that the vibe each time is different. It makes us sit up and take notice of what’s going on. Furthermore, behind every new villain we see the overarching storyline continuing, following Nolan and Mark at different times as they prepare for the inevitable while also dealing with the complexities of their lives.

Mark, especially, is going through a hard time, and we focus on the heartbreak of his trauma a bit more in this season. Viewers will be able to feel his emotions as he struggles to come to terms with some of his actions. The internal dilemma of taking a life affects not only human beings but also a superhero, who is responsible for saving the lives of hundreds. It’s an interesting and well-done topic, and we see Mark coping with this issue in a rather lonely fight.
At least his home life is a place of respite for him, as Deborah is finally in a stable relationship, and Eve and he are having a great time, too. There are some problems here and there, but they are merely bumps on the road. His relationship with Oliver is also heartfelt, and you see the brotherly love between them through some sweet moments. However, there is one little problem that comes out of nowhere for both the audience and Mark, but the effects of it will probably need another season to be understood!

Nolan gets an interesting change of pace this season, and his relationship with his sons makes for an emotional addition. I won’t get too deep into it for fear of spoiling these moments, but the series, as always, does a fantastic job of blending the personal with the professional. It keeps the characters flying high as they win one battle after another, while the personal moments keep them grounded, reminding them of what’s at stake. The season continues to be entertaining, and there is not one moment when I have found myself bored.
Overall, Invincible Season 4 continues to be fantastic and a must-watch for fans of the show. With the threat of Viltrumites becoming as omnipresent as ever, allegiances are formed that will leave viewers hopeful. There are several humorous moments surrounding this as well, while the fight sequences leave you breathless. Of course, the animation is fantastic as always, and probably doesn’t need to be mentioned again at this point!
Final Thoughts

Invincible Season 4 continues to keep Mark’s wins and losses at its forefront, creating a humanised superhero whom we can all relate to. He’s a good person, one not without his faults, and that’s probably what makes this series so engaging to watch.
