Im Siwan and aespa’s Winter Join Forces for a Surprise Music Collaboration; Release Date Announced!

The Jack of all Trades, aka, Im Siwan (also known as Yim Si-wan), actor, singer (and more) will soon be releasing a musical track with Winter of aespa! On September 19, 2023, SM Entertainment dropped the first sneak peek for the same in the form of a poster highlighting the two artists’ names and the song name Win For You.

Although not many details have been outed about the track yet, its first poster features a player standing beside a table tennis table, ready to serve the ball to the opponent. Surprisingly, Siwan is also the PR ambassador for the 2024 Busan World Table Tennis Championships. We can’t confirm yet if this is a mere coincidence or if it has something to do with the same event that is to take place in February 2024, but in time, all shall be revealed.

What makes the Siwan Winter collaboration news an even more striking announcement is that it has been listed under the “SM Classics” category, which is the classical music label under SM Entertainment. Previously, aespa’s debut song Black Mamba also received an orchestra re-arrangement, conducted by Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra under the same banner of SM Classics.

aespa Winter had recently also opened her personal Instagram account (imwinter), much like her fellow aespa members, and along with them, she had last put out the group’s first original English track titled Better Things in August 2023. Her group will also be performing at the SMTOWN LIVE 2023 that is to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia on September 23, 2023.

As for Siwan, also a member of the South Korea boy band ZE:A (currently on an extended hiatus since 2017), is set to star in the 2024 Squid Game Season 2, and his upcoming sports biopic Road to Boston (947 보스톤) is slated to release theatrically on September 27, 2023.
