Idol I Episode 3 Recap

The episode unfolds, and we see how Se-na and Chung-jae helped Ra-ik get inside her house. Chung-jae even tries to tell Se-na how Ra-ik can be an actual murderer, and she should be scared. However, she tells him she is more worried about Ra-ik than getting scared of him hurting her. She also meticulously removes all the stickers that were present on her bed of Ra-ik so that he does not get uncomfortable or find out that she is actually his fan. After waking up, Ra-ik is visibly confused as to what he is doing in Se-na’s home and runs away.

On the other hand, Byung-gyun also realises that Ra-ik might not be the guy who actually murdered his friend. The job was done by someone who was too precise, and Ra-ik, at that time, was actually drunk, so he possibly could not have done something like that. Se-na also meets Ra-ik’s manager and the CEO of his company to understand the situation better. The other members of the Gold Boys also come to the meeting. However, from Jae-hee, she gets a very distorted version of Ra-ik’s fight with his band members, and she leaves with more questions.

On the other hand, Ra-ik goes to meet his CEO and gets told how his situation is worse than ever before. He gets informed how his mother is using his name to go on interviews and claiming money for spilling the beans. Se-na goes to meet Ra-ik’s mother and becomes absolutely disgusted by her behaviour. She has no sympathy or love for her son and only wishes to benefit from his name. Se-na rightfully threatens her that if she does the same things again, she will file a lawsuit against her. Plus, Ra-ik gets beaten by some bullies, and he just takes the beating. Se-na comes and saves him, but finds him in a deeply depressive state.

Surprisingly, we get to see how Byung-gyun finally realises that he was a bully to Se-na. Back at Sena’s house, Ra-ik tells her about all the bad things he has faced in his life. He aspired to be a singer because he saw his mother sing from a young age, but soon, she used his interest in that field to make money. Woo-seong was the only one who stood by him all his life and stayed Ra-ik’s friend even in tough times. Not only that, but Ra-ik also lets Se-na know that he will have to stay with her because his place has been confiscated.

A bizarre twist happens in this episode as we see Ra-ik’s former girlfriend go on a date with Byung-gyun. Later, Se-na convinces Ra-ik to attend his friend’s last rites, where they both go together. After that, Byung-gyun again calls for Se-na and Ra-ik to ask an important question. Needless to say, the case becomes more complicated towards the end.

I absolutely loved today’s episode as it thickens the mystery, and I like how hidden relationships are getting introduced. The cinematography is as brilliant as usual, and the characters do a really good job of selling the drama. I’m really excited for the next episode.
