Hunter With a Scalpel Episode 13 Review: Chaos, Murder and Emotional Wreckage

In the last episode of Hunter With a Scalpel, Jung-hyun and Se-hyun decide to fight against Jo-gyun, albeit without any prior discussion. Unfortunately, the serial killer gets away, and Jung-hyun is left wounded.

The episode opens with us getting an inkling of what could’ve happened to Eun-seo – she stumbled upon the blood in the back of the truck, which Jo-gyun had discovered and made a run for it with Se-hyun, but we don’t know anything more. In the present, Se-hyun and Jung-hyun are rushed to the hospital, where the two groups of police officers get into an altercation. Meanwhile, trying to escape, Jo-gyun chastises Se-eun for not keeping an eye on Se-hyun.

The police are at an impasse with what to do, with Kim Jin-rae admonishing everyone for not following orders and asking them not to look into Jo-gyun for now. Choi Jong-soo stands up for his men while Jin-woo looks defeated at not listening to Jung-hyun when he had the chance. However, they soon get the evidence that they require to link Jo-gyun to all the serial killings, much to everyone’s shock. Elsewhere, Cheon Su-yeon walks in on Myung-kwan and Joon-kyung talking about something shady, and they ask her to stay quiet.

Jin-woo, trying to figure out who Jo-gyun is, stumbles upon the notebook that Se-hyun had hidden before meeting her father, and they rush to get their hands on it. He later asks her for answers, but she remains quiet and unresponsive. In the end, she promises to tell him everything if he holds a press conference for her. She elects to be the bait to lure Jo-gyun out in a shocking twist!

As Jung-hyun watches on from the hospital, Se-hyun arrives at the press conference and drops the bombshell that she’s Jo-gyun’s daughter.

It’s the finale week for this Kdrama, and things have become juicy. I can’t wait to see how the police and the forensic team get the karma that they deserve for doing a terrible job! Se-hyun has finally resigned herself to realise that she’s not the super soldier that she once thought of herself to be and is finally making more informed choices. Episode 12 is absolutely thrilling and will leave viewers excited to see how the knot undoes itself. Either way, this one might end on an exciting high!
