Bigbang’s TOP who has been chosen as a member of the dearMoon project, released Humanity Teaser on his Instagram. In Korean titled (사람), the song is produced by him, Become and Jack Pot. The song is also a part of the project, which is a lunar tourism mission and art project conceived and financed by Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa.
The mission is to make use of a SpaceX Starship spacecraft on a private spaceflight flying a single circumlunar trajectory around the Moon. TOP will be part of the expedition along with Japanese-American DJ and musician Steve Aoki, Indian actor Dev Joshi, U.S. Olympic snowboarder Kaitlyn Farrington, Japanese dancer Miyu, creator Yemi A.D., photographic artist Rhiannon Adam, YouTuber Tim Dodd, photographer Karim Iliya, and filmmaker Brendan Hall.
dearMoon project was unveiled in September 2018 and is scheduled to launch in 2023. The objective is to have eight passengers travel with Maezawa for free around the Moon on a six-day tour. Maezawa expects that the experience of space tourism will inspire the accompanying passengers in the creation of something new.

In the released clip, at first, we see TOP’s imagined space avatar – like an astronaut – as seen in sci-fi movies which soon turns into an animated eye. In the deepness of the eye, we can see stars, the sun and the moon and as we come back to earth, a shot of the moon from the naked eye is seen.
As for the music, although it’s a bit unclear – the lyrics seem to start with ‘Happy me & Happy you’, then move on to a different section of the song, where the rapper sings about leaving a legacy, even if he disappears from Earth or existence. He is probably referring to his expedition, which will mark an extraordinary milestone in history.
TOP aka Choi Seung-hyun is a South Korean rapper, multi-hyphenate musician, award-winning film actor, and avid art collector. He made his debut in 2006 as the lead rapper of the legendary K-pop group BIGBANG. He has now left his agency YG Entertainment and working on his solo career since then.
