Anticipation for the documentary soared ever since J-Hope teased it during his appearance on Suga’s popular talk show, Suchwita, where he discussed his upcoming project. Then, on his 30th birthday, BTS’s official Instagram page confirmed the release of Hope On The Street for March. Today, on 19th February the long-awaited release date has finally been unveiled.
Alongside the announcement of the docuseries comes a special album, Hope on the Street Vol. 1, featuring six tracks slated for release on March 29th. This project follows hot on the heels of J-Hope’s 2022 solo album, Jack in the Box. The musical compilation coincides with a six-part docuseries of the same name, Hope on the Street, which will delve into J-Hope’s dance journey as he immerses himself in the vibrant street dance scenes of Osaka, Paris, New York, Seoul, and Gwangju.
The documentary promises an intimate look into J-Hope’s origin story and his deep passion for dance as he embarks on a new chapter in his twelfth year as a professional. Chronicling his return to his dancing roots, the series combines elements of a travelogue as J-Hope, accompanied by his former dance instructor, the renowned popping champion Boogaloo Kin, explores the streets of various cities, encountering and connecting with inspiring street dancers along the way.
This new series is a delight for fans, who are well aware of J-Hope’s dedication to his craft, recognizing him as one of the premier dancers in the K-pop industry today. Both the documentary and the album will delve into the theme of dance, which serves as the bedrock of J-Hope’s artistic expression and identity.
