Fans can rejoice as His Dark Materials Season 3 is finally coming out! After almost two years of desperately waiting to know more about the Dust and the world beyond, we have a third and final season of the show coming our way.
The well-loved fantasy drama is based on the trilogy of novels of the same name by Philip Pullman and is produced by Bad Wolf and New Line Productions, for BBC One and HBO. With generally positive reviews, the first season came out back in 2019 and the second season made its way to the screens in 2020. However, due to the pandemic and some mixed responses received by the second season, there was a certain doom over the makers’ heads about a third season, although they did confirm in 2020 that a third season will mark the final ending of this fan-favourite show.
The star cast of His Dark Materials features Dafne Keen as Lyra Belacqua (who is essentially the protagonist of the series), Ruth Wilson as Marisa Coulter, Ariyon Bakare as Lord Carlo Boreal/Sir Charles Latrom, Will Keen as Father Hugh MacPhail, Gary Lewis as Thorold, James McAvoy as Lord Asriel Belacqua, Lin-Manuel Miranda as Lee Scoresby, Ruta Gedmintas as Serafina Pekkala, Amir Wilson as Will Parry, Nina Sosanya as Elaine Parry, Jade Anouka as Ruta Skadi, Sean Gilder as Father Graves, Simone Kirby as Dr Mary Malone and Andrew Scott as Colonel John Parry/Stanislaus Grumman.
As much as the main cast is important to the show, so are the voice actors who lend their voices to the ever-present daemons in the show. We have Helen McCrory as Stelmaria (later Victoria Hamilton), Kit Connor as Pantalaimon, Cristela Alonzo as Hester, David Suchet as Kaisa, Joe Tandberg as Iorek Byrnison, Sope Dirisu as Sergi, Sophie Okonedo as Xaphania, Lindsay Duncan as Octavia and Phoebe Waller-Bridge as Sayan Kötör.
When Will His Dark Materials Season 3 Episode 1 Release?
His Dark Materials Season 3 will consist of a total of eight episodes. It is going to be based on The Amber Spyglass by Pullman. The third season will premiere with its first two episodes on December 5, 2022, and will be available around 9 to 11 pm ET/PT.
