Heartstopper Season 2 Predictions: In terms of LGBTQ+ teenage romances, Heartstopper has managed to become one of the most popular shows. The portrayal of the innocence of first love along with the challenges of being a queer teen blended beautifully in the first season. The positive vibe of the show has been particularly hailed by the audiences considering how opposite it is to dark teen dramas like Euphoria among others. With a successful bout in its first outing, the show is set to return with Season 2 soon and fans have been eager to witness some heart-fluttering moments again.

Based on the popular webcomic and graphic novel series of the same name by Alice Osman, the show introduced us to the lead characters of Charlie Spring played by Joe Locke and Nick Nelson portrayed by Kit Connor in the first season. After witnessing how they fell in love, the story ahead only gets more interesting for Charlie and Nick. The show directed by Euros Lyn will also have a whole new chapter set in Paris this season.

The first season of the show saw Kit Connor’s Nick come out as to his mom in a heartwarming scene. Although Nick didn’t make his romance with Charlie official to his friends and classmates and that could be one of the big moments in the new season. With a school trip scheduled to the City of Love, Nick and Charlie may go public with their relationship. It would certainly be delightful to see Nick in a happy and freer space after he comes out.

Even as Charlie and Nick’s romance remains in the forefront of the show, the supporting characters have had an equally amazing presence so far and with the new season, they may even get a bigger spotlight. Charlie’s best friend Tao (William Gao) is expected to begin his own love story this season. The romantic tension between Tao and Elle (Yasmin Finney) was already seen heating up last season and things seem to move forward from there. In the trailer of Season 2, glimpses of Elle and Tao holding hands as they roam around the Louvre museum hinted at the two enjoying a romantic date. For shippers of this couple, it’s going to be a moment to look forward to.

Revelation of Charlie’s Painful Past

While it’s amazing to see Charlie being a supportive boyfriend to Nick as he provides him with the space to carve out his coming-out journey, the show may also delve into his own experience of it. As a protective boyfriend, Charlie may discuss the challenging time he faced after coming out. The webtoon has been known to have covered a great arc when it comes to his mental health and it could be explored with a sensitive approach this season. Both Nick and Charlie’s characters have been considered to be great examples in portraying the experiences of queer teens and it could become more meaningful in the new season.

Heartstopper Season 2 will be streaming on Netflix on August 3.
