Guns and Gulaabs Trailer: Rajkummar Rao, Dulquer Salmaan Channel Retro Enigma for Their Gangster Comedy Series

Starring Rajkummar Rao, Dulquer Salmaan, Adarsh Gourav, TJ Bhanu, Gulshan Devaiah, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Pooja A Gor and late Satish Kaushik, Raj and DK are bringing back the goodness of 90’s as seen in the new Guns And Gulaabs trailer released on August 2, 2023. Ahead of the Hindi crime comedy series’ release, the first look has already reminded us of movies like Sholay, ones we still are quite hung over. The loving ambiguity of the retro years is coming alive on the small screen yet again, and that too with an ensemble cast we love to see in action.

Having worked on eye-catching explosive titles like Farzi and The Family Man for OTT before, the “dynamic duo” of Raj & DK is back to set the screen ablaze. This August, we’ll come across a life-changing deal that will bridge the gap between the Good, the Bad and the Funny. Produced under the banner of D2R Films with Netflix, the rib-tickling thriller series is set in the 90s world of violence where guns did the talking more than words ever did.

Guns and Gulaabs Trailer - Satish Kaushik

Much like what the title suggests, the series will put together the world of crime and the innocence or romance. The Go Goa Gone filmmakers have concocted yet another trailblazing title for the audience that takes us back to the familiar warmth of old Bollywood films, but with a modern hilarious twist. The anticipated TV series emerging from the Indian OTT sphere works out a similar theme of fonts, character sketches and soundtrack in its first trailer.

With a retro spin to the title’s creation, the video sees cops and criminal mobs racing after or from each other. The series is set in the fictional setting of Gulaabganj, with the late actor Satish Kaushik as the supposed leading gang member controlling all action in town. Adarsh Gourav plays his son, and the expected successor in the race. Salmaan dons the role of the “Family Man” cop, while Devaiah breathes life to the character of “4 cut Atmaram”, a fearsome man in the mix who only needs 4 strikes to eliminate his opposing forces.

Rajkummar leads as Paana Tipu, who somehow gets embroiled in the bloodshed, but his innocently naive heart is also caught in a romantic track. Ultimately, each one of these lives get threaded together with crime and dysfunctional comedy at its heart.
