Heartbeat Teaser: 2PM’s Taecyeon Embraces His Vampire Side, Rising From the Dead

KBS is releasing another drama, and the new Heartbeat teaser gives a little sneak peek into what’s coming for these characters in the series. Also known as 가슴이 뛴다, this series is directed by Lee Hyun-suk and Lee Min-soo. It stars Ok Taecyeon, Won Ji-an, Yoon So-hee, Park Kang-hyun, Go Gyu-pil, Yoon Byung-hee, Baek Seo-hoo, Seung You, Baek Hyun-joo, Jung Young-ki, Ham Tae-in, Park Chul-min and Kim In-kwon, alongside other cast members. Lee Jung-mi serves as a producer, along with Park Gi-ho as producing director.

The teaser shows the male lead, Seon Woo-hyul, telling his story of becoming a vampire to Joo In-hae. In the process, we see him exploring his affinity for blood and feeding on humans. The fangs are coming out, but the female lead could barely care less. All she wants is for him to get out of the house. However, circumstances lead the neighbours to think that they are newlyweds. In-hae had gotten this house from her father as inheritance when she stumbled upon a coffin with this man inside.

However, Woo-hyul wasn’t always a vampire. A long, long time ago, during the Joseon era, he was in love with a girl, but because of a one-day difference, he is unable to turn back to humans and instead has to live wandering the Earth until he can find a way to reverse his vampire nature. In-hae is bringing all the warmth in his life even though she is colder than a glacier cap floating on water. But there is more drama among all of these characters.

It would be so easy if the two protagonists built their romance vibes by themselves, but there is always resistance, especially in the form of another character, Shin Do-sik, making this a love triangle galore. There are so many ways that their story could come to fruition, but thanks to In-hae’s college friend, there will be more drama and tension among the three characters. Obviously, Do-sik is not a vampire, and he is so nice that he is the perfect candidate for a partner. Woo-hyul stands no chance.

Destiny has other plans, though. When a mysterious voice tells him to make her fall in love with him, Woo-hyul has no choice but to follow in the footsteps of fate. He extends all his warmth to In-hae, the kind of connection he wasn’t allowed to have in 100 years. There are moments of longing gazes that truly make it clear that the protagonists are meant for each other. It is only up to Do-sik to leave them alone in their love story.
