Since EXO has been working hard at setting up their new album, the Hear Me Out MV reactions are loud enough to notify everyone that their efforts are not going to waste. This track is from their seventh album coming soon. The album, titled EXIST, has a long release schedule, with teaser images, tracklist, and album details all coming out on a specific schedule decided by SM Entertainment. There will be nine tracks on it, and so far, two of them have been released, including the first pre-release song Let Me In. There is a third music video coming soon too. It will be released with the release of the album.
In Hear Me Out, we see the band members all posing wonderfully in a photo booth, signalling their comeback. Many assumed that there would be issues with the band, especially after Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin entered into a legal dispute with the entertainment agency. However, this shows that they are ready to roll with this album smoothly. It was shared that this song will be an R&B song with a smooth vibe, conveying feelings to a hesitant lover who needs to be persuaded.
The video is incredibly cinematic, with wide angles and shots that make it seem like they’re in a coming-of-age movie, a la A24. While the rest of the members seem wasted on the floor of this apartment, it is vital to note that the colour scheme in the shot is a perfect blend of the sepias, some greens for contrast and the pinks that come from the artists’ hairs and faces. The lyrics are tonally incredibly casual and nonchalant, but the connotation is filled with so much sweet sentiment that it makes the video seem even more cute.
Using a single location to base the whole music video on is quite the brilliant technique to show the different aspects of a romantic relationship and what every person brings to the table when it comes to being a partner. Fans were incredibly excited to see this video because it signals the album is getting closer than ever. They have not just shared their favourite moments from the tracks but also the chart details that come with this release.
Others have taken the time to look into the nitty gritty of this music video and point out all the things that they thought were noteworthy, like the parallel between the two different parts of the music video. Some are just happy to see the band goofing out and being themselves in the video because it lends the touch of authenticity that, most times is not available to viewers or audiences. Their group pictures have made some people incredibly happy because they can use these images for wallpapers and other virtual designs. Check out some more fan responses below.
