Harry and Meghan Review: A Solid Proof To Show That Real-Life Fairytales are Black and White

Netflix’s docuseries on Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has come out with its first three episodes out of six, and it has set the standard. Each episode gave out extensive new information about Harry and Meghan from the couple themselves, making every nuance authentic and thrilling. The episodes run about 50 minutes and include various features such as Meghan’s close friends, her mother, British officials, Harry’s friends, etc.

Harry and Meghan: The Beginning of New Tradition

After connecting via Instagram, the American actress and the prince of Britain went on just two dates before figuring out that they were destined. The documentary showed in detail both Harry and Meghan’s perspectives on how they both looked at each other, what they found interesting in each other, and how they both decided to give the relationship a try.

We are also shown how Meghan flies to Britain to meet Harry, as he can’t be roaming around without paparazzi poking in. Not that, Meghan Markle wasn’t capable of garnering media attention, but she had the freedom that the Royal Family could never dream of. After keeping their relationship private while building each other up, one fine day, the news breaks out. With this info, the docuseries’ first episode ends. This ending of the first episode caught my attention and made me pursue what’s next.

Kudos to The Editors

Harry and Meghan reveal their story for the world.

It is beautiful to see Princess Diana’s footage added at appropriate times for the viewers to once again look at the eminent beauty who was one of the kindest people in the Royal Family. Various Diana videos and her struggles are wonderfully shown via Harry’s narrative. The docuseries also paves the way for the viewers to be reminded of what an amazing mother Diana was. Additionally, there are also classic photos and videos of the Royal Family. It is truly a great experience to see a real-life Prince and his hardships.

On the other hand, we also have a great insight into the life of Meghan Markle. Her old interviews, activist shows, and other related videos have been added to enhance the idea that Meghan Markle isn’t just an ordinary person but an intelligent woman, equivalent to Harry.

It’s nice how two different videos are properly aligned to show the same story but from different perspectives. It didn’t feel like watching an hour-long interview between Harry and Meghan, as the editors kept showing something new on the screen to hook the viewers.

The Featuring People Gave Wonderful Insight

Remember, it is not easy to come forward and express your thoughts for the whole world to see. In the docuseries, many close friends and family of Harry and Meghan bravely came in and spoke out about how the couple processed and went about their hard lives. All these people’s insights were so important as they made the story of both Harry and Meghan authentic, real, and heartbreaking. We could also see Meghan’s mother saying that she is ready to speak up after being brutally bashed by the media for her race. The docuseries really pulled out the truth and showed a completely different side of the Prince and the Duchess.

The Childhood of Harry and Meghan

One of the key aspects shown in this docuseries is how both Harry and Meghan had different childhoods, both equally tormented. Prince Harry considers himself cheeky like his mother and expresses how, since he was a child, he wanted to be adventurous. The docuseries clearly showed how Harry was back in his school and college days. The paparazzi would always be around him and cover horrendous news about him being involved with drugs, romance, and parties. Honestly, we can’t trust the media fully, but even if Harry has enjoyed parties, he still deserves to have his privacy.

Then Meghan’s childhood is also beautifully shown. We will be able to see that she has always been a bright student. There are pictures from her childhood showing her being in the church choir, playing around, enjoying her neighbourhood, etc. Being a mixed person, Meghan has always gone through hardships since her childhood, and they were explained clearly through the narratives of Meghan and Meghan’s mother. As she grew up and entered the media world, paparazzi troubled her life as well.

Harry and Meghan: A Perfect Match

There’s something beautiful about these two that can be clearly seen in the docuseries. They’re not too flirty or touchy to pretend that they have a loving relationship. Harry and Meghan were bickering with each other, making jokes and had great chemistry going on. In fact, both of them have been doing a lot of charity work even before knowing each other. This is surely one of the reasons why the couple fell head over heels for each other.

Harry is a man who constantly wishes to protect his family, while Meghan is ready to sacrifice anything for her family’s sake. They totally completed each other, and their love was blooming through my laptop screen—nope, not an exaggeration.

Final Verdict

The Harry and Meghan docuseries is surely not for the faint of heart because there are some tearjerker moments in the series. The couple had and continues to have far too many issues that keep them constantly treading on thorns. Harry and Meghan are a historical couple, and leading a normal life is not easy for them.

The docuseries is worth watching, and I really hope the media houses know their boundaries and do not easily ruin the life of a fellow human being. You can stream the first three episodes on Netflix and later watch the final three episodes, which will air on December 15, 2022.

  1. Thank you for this fine review! I just had the unfortunate experience of reading another “review” that was supposedly for this show where the reviewer railed on about this and that, and the Royal Family’s privilege, and H&M being spoiled children, and THAT reviewer couldn’t stand to watch beyond the first episode. His experience was not mine but was more yours. Thank you again!
