Happiness Is Review

The movie presents a simple plot with predictable ups and downs. It focuses on two characters: Princess and her friend Tumi. It is Princess’ 40th birthday, and Tumi is all set to throw a big birthday party for her friend’s special day. However, things soon go downhill as Princess runs away, and Tumi brings a big group behind her. One person in this group is Princess’ ex-husband, who is here with his new girlfriend.

Highlighting the importance of companionship and the meaning of true happiness in one’s life, the film interestingly introduces this theme. Princess’s age is focused upon to show that 40 is not too late for new beginnings, while also specifying the age category the people around her belong to. They are all heading towards a new beginning in their life, which is why his birthday is the focus of most of the film.

The storyline is kept simple and nothing too twisted, almost seeming like something picked out of one’s life. It is no different than the occasional drama we go through in life and later reminisce about it simply because it is fun. This also keeps it relatable to quite the extent, often making you feel embarrassed because it seems like something that is happening to someone you know. And just like many would advise, this is the film that shows how just talking can solve more than half of our issues.

The scenes are natural, the characters are real, and honestly, we all have friends who can be delulu like Princess or commanding like Tumi. While nothing extraordinary is happening in this film, it is a good rom-com to watch when bored. An easy-to-watch film that will keep you entertained for as long as you need it to.
