Grosse Pointe Garden Society Episode 6 Recap
The episode starts with Marilyn finding out that her husband, Buzz, is having an affair during the garden party. We then cut to the humdrum of the characters’ everyday lives. Brett is planning for his son’s birthday, and the coldness between Brett and Alice makes everyone uncomfortable. Jumping to five months later, Marilyn rushes around trying to clean up a ton of blood on a meat cleaver and all over herself.
Back to the present day, Connor is putting a tail on Brett to get custody of the kids while Catherine gets headhunted by a rival real estate company. Birdie, meanwhile, learns that Ford is getting kicked out of school for cheating and is given a valuable lesson about the realities of life. Elsewhere, Alice and Patty try to bond until she finds out that Patty has been buying Doug’s art to fund their lifestyle so that she can start having children. She tries to tell Doug, but isn’t able to break his heart after she sees how happy he is.

Meanwhile, Birdie tries to reason with Ford but finds out that her son is a degenerate who paid his tutor off with weed and cheated on his test. Connor, on the other hand, tries to win Zach’s favour at his birthday party but ends up embarrassing him. Brett saves his son’s reputation in front of his friends, but this leaves Connor bitter. Five months later, Marilyn frantically calls Alice as she drives out of the house.
In the present, Birdie talks her way to make Ford’s expulsion go away, leaving everyone in the room stunned, while Catherine goes on a tour of her new offices, only to be called back home after her daughter falls sick. Connor, on the other hand, continues to complain about Brett “stealing his thunder”, and Melissa tells him that they can’t move to Chicago and take the happiness of family away from Brett and the children. Meanwhile, Marilyn finds herself overcome with emotions as she is left to have dinner alone once again and smashes a plate.

Five months later, as she rushes down the road, she spots a quilt or blanket sticking out of the trunk of the car in front of her before it zooms away. Back in the present, Alice talks to Catherine about the reality of motherhood as she makes up her mind about what to do with her own life. That night, Joel and Birdie converse about Ford before making out on the couch. Elsewhere, Brett and Connor meet up, and the latter extends an olive branch to smooth things over with Melissa. Is this the start of a new friendship?
As Patty revels in her blackmailing skills to get a baby out of Doug and Alice, the latter conspires with Marilyn to annoy her mother-in-law. Five months later, it turns out Marilyn’s pet got attacked by a coyote, and Alice arrives to give her moral support when she tells her that someone stole the quilt. Marilyn mentions that it was in Gary’s car, and although Alice tries to tell her that she probably didn’t see right, it’s clear that Marilyn isn’t ready to back down.
Grosse Pointe Garden Society Episode 6 Review

Another week, another episode of this drama-thriller, and I must say that things are starting to lose a bit of steam. Although I am looking forward to the drama every week, I think the thriller part feels a bit drawn out. That being said, the series does a stellar job of subverting our expectations and making us incorrectly believe about the victim’s identity. However, at this point, I have so many questions that need answers that it is slowly becoming difficult to understand where all the answers lie!
