Gehraiyaan Trailer: An Intense Story of Love, Lies and Lust

The much-awaited Gehraiyaan trailer is now out for all of us to watch. The modern romantic drama directed by Shakun Batra stars Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, Dhairya Karwa, Naseeruddin Shah and Rajat Kapoor. The screenplay is by Ayesha Devitre Dhillon, Sumit Roy & Shakun. The trailer is of 2 minutes 42 seconds.

In the trailer, we find out that Deepika’s character Alisha is in an unhappy relationship with Karan (Dhairya). They argue and don’t appreciate/understand each other much. Their lives change when Alisha’s cousin Tia (Ananya) and her fiancé Zain (Siddhant) enter their lives. There’s some spark between Alisha and Zain, and they start having an affair.

Alisha and Zain are so deep in their newly found love/lust bond their lives become full of lies. They lie to their respective partners, and people are hurt. The duo has no choice but to confront the truth and also their past. There’s a song Besabar used in the Gehraiyaan trailer in the background, which is quite catchy as the title track.

The trailer description for Amazon Prime’s Gehraiyaan reads, “Alisha Khanna, 30, ambitious, now finds herself at a crossroads in life. Her six year long relationship has grown monotonous, her career seems to be hitting a lot of roadblocks and just when she had begun to accept this reality as unchangeable, her life is usurped by the arrival of her cousin, Tia and her fiancé, Zain, with whom she bonds over a troubled past and a common wish to break from its confines. The story charts the journey of Alisha and Zain, as they confront the ghost of their past on the path they take to avoid it.”
