Gangnam B-Side Recap
The episode starts with the police discovering Lee Gang-su’s body while Dong-woo and Seo-jin get in a heated spat trying on the bridge. While the latter refuses to believe that Yun was trying to get Gil-ho murdered and framed, Dong-woo’s insistence makes her doubt what she had previously perceived.
Seo-jin meets Joon-seo afterwards, who directs her to a secret chat app that everyone in the business uses. He further tells her that Gil-ho hasn’t died and that he can’t wait to grab a drink with her after everything is done. However, Seo-jin isn’t convinced and starts to look deeper into him. Unfortunately, in the midst of this, she gets news that the weapon that was found to have murdered Gang-su belonged to Gil-ho, leaving her surprised.

Meanwhile, Dong-woo looks into Gil-ho and ends up at the arcade, finding small clues that help him connect the place with Gangnam Trading. Elsewhere, his colleague finds the social media accounts of Jae-hee, Jung-hwa and Lemon and relays that they were big names in the Gangnam club scenes. Dong-woo goes out to find Lemon, who seems to be still alive and in Korea, while Gil-ho reminisces about his past with Madam Baek and Jae-hee.
In the midst of following Lemon around, Dong-woo and Kim Jang-ho come across a building that they have a sordid history. They walk inside the building to find a well-hidden hostess bar with bags of drugs in different rooms. Dong-woo, meanwhile, walks into Ju Yun doing some not-so-legal things with two young girls and he immediately arrests him and Lemon. Tak Joo-il orders Seo-jin to fire Yun immediately, who tells her to contact Joon-seo to let him know that he will keep all the secrets under wraps for the time being.

While Gil-ho tries to find Yoon-seo desperately to settle scores, Yun decides to open up to Seo-jin, who asks Don-woo to assist her. However, he doesn’t trust her at first and refuses to cooperate. Thankfully, she is able to make him change his tune and he shares everything that he knows. Unfortunately, Joon-seo calls and lets Seo-jin know that her meeting with Yun will be cancelled and that he knows exactly where Jae-hee and Gil-ho are.
As everyone prepares to meet Joon-seo, he invites the men who murdered Jung-hwa to have one more “fun” night with Jae-hee.
Gangnam B-Side Episode 3 Review

The problem with this series is that it’s too slow. Every episode I wait for this to get more complicated and for the runtime to get tighter but the series showcases the most mundane things with extremely little information per episode. This heightens your expectations but since it never delivers on them, we are left disappointed. In episode 3, we see a bit of backstory, but there’s hardly anything shocking here. It feels like the series is stretching what could’ve been the story of one episode into 3, which is thoroughly disappointing. In spite of having such great actors, there’s hardly much thrill or anticipation here.
