Flex X Cop Episode 8 Recap
I-soo apologises to Kang-hyun for acting hastily and promises to not do that again. Then the interrogation starts where Kang-hyun and Joon-young skillfully make the assassin to accept certain things. I-soo rushes inside the room when the assassin denies to pick up the VIP call. I-soo pretends like the assassin and picks the call up only to learn about a meeting. He disguises as the assassin and finds the VIP and brings him to the station.
Apparently he is a politician who is opposing I-soo’s father. With their skills, Kang-hyun and I-soo learn that the politician set up the assassin only to find the USB with their private videos and didn’t assign to kill Sang-gu. That night, Kang-hyun has a conversation with her father about I-soo’s mother and he tells that she died due to depression and they had to help I-soo out. Kang-hyun understands that I-soo lost his memory and it was done to protect the child from trauma.

The next, I-soo goes to the funeral home of his mother since it is her death anniversary. Over there something clicks in his mind and he calls Kang-hyun to ask her whether someone in Sang-gu’s family died. Then together they visit the funeral place of Sang-gu’s father and find the USB hidden there. Previously, they found a conversation between Sang-gu and a client where he says the USB is kept in a place where nobody can access except him. As funeral houses only allow immediate family, I-soo figured that it could be the right place.
They discover videos of clients doing various mental activities and understand that these videos could do damage to their reputation. I-soo confirms that Dr. Seo is the criminal but the three other cops don’t agree. I-soo says that he learnt from Euna that she got hypnotism therapy. This makes I-soo understand that Dr. Seo hypnotised them all and committed the murder. To make the cops believe his theory, he asks Joon-young to pretend as a rich client and get the same therapy.

At the hospital, Joon-young asks the doctor to treat him in a way he will like a person he hates (which is I-soo). After the treatment, he comes back to the station and says the treatment was bad. But soon when I-soo enters, Joon-young’s behaviour changes and he treats I-soo affectionately. This makes them understand that Dr. Seo could have hypnotised her clients. I-soo visits Dr. Seo’s mentor and learns about her expertise. With his help, they hypnotise Dr. Seo and she herself comes to the police station and confesses everything.
Apparently, she killed Sang-gu with the scalpel she received as an award and hypnotised Seonu to believe he’s going to die and hence he died out of dehydration. The case closes successfully however Dr. Seo plans another moment to make things worse for I-soo. At the prison, she offers him a chance to know what happened to his mother and hypnotises him only to show the little child in him watch his mother drowning inside the bathtub.

Flex X Cop Episode 8 Review
Now that I-soo has recovered a deadly memory it’s going to be very hard for him to move on as it will feel like his mother’s death happened only recently. If they had let him remember it, he would have grown up healing himself but sadly they suppressed his memory and now it will be extremely traumatic for him. He will try to find answers behind his mother’s death which will make him go nuts but thankfully Kang-hyun will be beside him.

Yet, everyone warns Kang-hyun of I-soo because he is a kid with PTSD and it might affect her. So in the upcoming episodes we’ll most definitely see I-soo’s past haunting not only him but also Kang-hyun but it’s evident she is strong enough to handle the mess.
