Flex X Cop Episode 16 Recap
The episode begins with the team attempting to piece together the puzzle of who killed both the chairman and Isoo’s mother. Despite their efforts, they cannot find any link whatsoever and have reached a block. However, they have lead suspects for both the cases who are Heeja and Seungju. I-soo overhears his team and asks them about the suspects. To their surprise, when they mention about Seung-ju, I-soo gets mad at them.
Meanwhile, Kang-hyun’s father Hyung-jun recalls his mother’s case and remembers there were two children whose fingerprints they couldn’t identify. He goes to the police station, retrieves the old records, and finds the fingerprints. He sends them to forensics to confirm whom the prints belong to.

I-soo visits Heeja and learns from the doctor that she’s completely in a trance and isn’t speaking anymore. He gets details about her driver 25 years ago and meets him to learn about what happened on the day his mother died. The driver reveals that he was fired that day after driving her to I-soo’s mother’s house, where she didn’t stay. He adds that he saw Seung-ju come out of the house on that day and offered him a ride. However, Seung-ju refused, saying he was going somewhere nearby. Sadly, that very night, Seung-ju got into a car accident, resulting in the driver’s dismissal.
I-soo confirms with Mr Choi about Seung-ju’s accident and shares this information with Kang-Hyun and suggests checking the records for patients from the night Seung-ju got into the accident to determine where he was. Meanwhile, Seung-ju becomes the chairman of the Hansu Group. I0soo attends the ceremony and later questions Seung-ju about his whereabouts on the day of their mother’s murder. Seung-Ju denies being there or seeing her. Mr Choi overhears this and becomes angry.
I-soo goes to the police station and discovers the report confirming that Seung-ju was indeed at their mother’s house that day as his fingerprint was found in a juice glass. He then retrieves a gun from the storage room. At the company, Mr Choi confronts Seung-ju and tells him that he will be brought down from the position that he doesn’t deserve.

At the hospital, Seung-Ju’s mother, still shell-shocked, learns that her son has become the CEO and harms herself. This makes Seung-ju feel terrible. That very night, I-soo calls Seung-ju and asks him to meet him at his home. He reveals that he found Seung-Ju’s fingerprints and asks if he killed their mother. Seung-ju then recalls what happened that night. Apparently, he came to meet Ms. Kim that night to ask whether she’ll marry her father to which she assured him that she won’t.
But when he saw Myung-cheol’s phone call in Kim’s phone, he got triggered and slipped a drug into her juice. Before his father could arrive, the young Seung-ju filled up the bathtub and placed the unconscious Kim inside it. When he leaves the home, he runs and meets with a car accident.
After Seung-ju confesses, a physical altercation ensues between the brothers, resulting in severe injuries. I-soo tells Seung-ju that their father knew Seung-ju wasn’t his biological son but kept him because he trusted him. Seung-ju feels burdened by guilt and tries to shoot himself with the gun. I-soo reveals that the gun isn’t loaded and that he wants Seung-ju to live and suffer with guilt.

The team arrives and arrests Seung-ju. He receives a life sentence, and his mother comes in a wheelchair to look at her son whom she groomed into. I-soo visits both his mother’s and father’s graves. Later, he encounters Kang-Hyun’s mother, who offers him food. He sees the plate, which resembles what his mother used to cook, and breaks down in tears.
The team miss I-soo’s presence at the station as he is now involved with the Hansu Group. On the day of him taking the chairman position, he comes to the police station and shocks everyone. He then reveals that he made Mr Choi the chairman of Hansu Group and wants to be with the force. The Team 1 reunites and their new case starts.
Flex X Cop Episode 16 Review
That was one hell of a twist! The previous episode made it seem like Heeja killed Kim and her son grew up to be like her. However, she was innocent from the start while his son committed two murders just for the sake of his mother’s sanity and power position. Heeja’s alcoholic addiction and her words severely influenced Seung-ju and he turned out as such.

It’s so sad to see I-soo learning the truth that’s unbearable as for him Seung-ju was the only person he relied most on. But Seung-ju simply felt pity for him and wanted to keep him under him. When the truth comes out, Seung-ju feels extremely guilty for the crimes he committed for nothing. The team’s journey will continue and more cases will be shown. Will there be a new villain or will it be just excellent cases? Let’s look forward to Season 2!
