First Lady Episode 7 Review: A Slower Episode That Promises Something Devastating to Follow

In the last episode, Su-yeon enjoys a rare victory as Min-cheol’s team gets blow after blow that leaves them desperate. However, a surprise pregnancy leaves her heartbroken.

First Lady Episode 7 has a runtime of 60 minutes.

After learning of Hwa-jin’s pregnancy, Su-yeon is left devastated, and Hoon asks her to meet Hwa-jin herself and confirm everything. Meanwhile, after Woo-young is arrested, Soo-mi informs Hwa-jin, and she rushes out to meet them at Haseong Station, but quickly realises that she is a prisoner who cannot leave. Before Su-yeon can meet her, though, Hwa-jin faints and when she comes to, she begs Su-yeon to help her get Woo-young out of the station.

Either way, a lot of misconceptions are clear after this as Hwa-jin tells Su-yeon that Min-cheol was, in fact, not trying to get into her pants on the day of the election. Either way, she begs Su-yeon to save her friend and promises to do whatever she tells her, and that immediately brings forth a little plan for her. Elsewhere, Hyun-gyo talks to Hae-rin and tells her what Su-yeon did to him and brings forth a plan – they need to get their hand on the blackmail material that Su-yeon holds to join the party and sway their stance.

It’s here that Hae-rin learns that Min-cheol had rejected the Special Act and is left fuming. She, thus, promises to get everything that is needed to get the Act passed – at whatever cost. Meanwhile, Ji-yoo implores her father to go back to how their family previously was, and her pleads leave him in tears. He later gets a call from Chan-do and realises that the wiretap that Su-yeon did was to keep an eye on Jin-myeong and Sang-hee, and not exactly on him. Either way, he demands to see Su-yeon’s diary to corroborate these claims.

She later visits Min-cheol at his office and tells him that she will tell everyone that Hwa-jin is pregnant with his child and will destroy his career. Naturally, Min-cheol asks her what she wants in exchange for her silence, and she asks him to go back to how things were before the Special Act. Min-cheol doesn’t look exactly happy with the threat!

First Lady Episode 7 Review

We are back with another frustrating episode of First Lady that seemingly is going nowhere as Min-cheol continues to be a wet blanket and flail around unnecessarily. I keep thinking that he will do the right thing and not push out his wife, the mother of his child, after having used her to become the President, but the bar is in hell, and the annoyance never ceases to exist. That being said, this one is a slower episode by this drama’s standards and, considering the sneak peek that we got of episode 8, things are about to get a whole lot worse for everyone.
