Fear Street: Prom Queen Ending Explained

Shadyside, 1988: Another set of murders, another set of cliques and another final girl in the making. The film opens with Lori and some of her other classmates getting ready for their senior prom. Of course, the popular girls are being extremely mean to Lori, whose mother was accused of killing her father during their own prom.

With two days left for prom, the killers get to work almost immediately and kill off the resident “bad girl”, Christy. Taking a break till the prom, the killer starts off once again, killing Melissa and Linda first and then Tyler, right in front of Lori, just as they share a sweet moment together. Meanwhile, sensing that something is wrong, Megan makes her way to the basement and finds all the others’ dead bodies.

The killer turns out to be Tifanny’s father, Dan, who, while trying to kill Lori, is ambushed by Megan and then Lori stabs him in the eye. Nancy asks her husband why she did it, and Dan tells her that he knew that she wanted this for Tifanny desperately, and he wanted to make their dreams come true. When asked what it would have counted after all of this, Dan tells everyone that people only remember the winner and nothing else.

In the end, Lori spends some time with Tifanny while her mother is taken in for questioning, and they fall asleep while watching TV. However, they both wake up and are shocked to find Nancy with a huge knife running after Lori. The two girls run into a closet to hide, and then Tiffany attacks Lori, recounting gruesome details of the murders. Lori runs from Tiffany, only to get attacked by Nancy, who confesses to being her father’s killer. Lori’s father was Nancy’s boyfriend first before he started dating her mother, and she murdered her out of jealousy.

Just as Tiffany is about to stab Lori, the latter kicks her over the railing, and she falls to her bloody death. In the end, Lori bludgeons a hysterical Nancy over the head, ending the madness.
