List of All the HBO Movies and Shows That Got Cancelled: Batgirl, Gordita Chronicles, Made for Love and More

Wondering about every HBO movie and show that got cancelled by the network? Well, we got you covered on the sad news. After announcing its merger with Discovery+ and very visibly tweeting about the difference between the two platforms and why they should merge, the Warner Brothers streaming network is on a streak to cancel some much-talked-about shows and movies.

Since the 2022 merger of WarnerMedia with Discovery, Inc. that gave rise to Warner Bros. Discovery, the merging of HBO Max and Discovery+ has been on the cards for quite some time now, however, it was least expected that this merger would result in the cancellation of some of the titles. Here is a list covering it all.

Every HBO Movie and Show That Got Cancelled in 2022

Batgirl

Batgirl is a film everyone has been hyped about for a while now. Directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah from a screenplay by Christina Hodson, the film is supposed to cover the origin story of the daughter of police commissioner James Gordon, who is an important character in the Batman stories. Unfortunately, due to the studio’s cost-cutting measures, the film will no longer be arriving on HBO Max but, will be getting a theatrical release.

Gordita Chronicles

Even after a 100% Rotten Tomatoes rating with only one season, HBO Max has cancelled Gordita Chronicles. After its cancellation on July 29, 2022, Sony Pictures Television is planning to shop the series on some other platform, much like what fans are trying to do for The Time Traveler’s Wife.

Elvis

The 2022 biographical drama fared well with its theatrical release. The film was scheduled to arrive on HBO Max, much like Dune and The Matrix: Resurrections did but, it has been cancelled by HBO Max and will no longer be making an appearance on the streaming platform.
