Euphoria Season 2 Episode 2 Recap Contains All Spoilers
Euphoria Season 2 Episode 2 starts picks up after the incident in episode 1. After Fez hits Nate, the people at the New Year party take him to the hospital. Rue narrates how Nate has started thinking about the future and wondered why he didn’t meet/notice Cassie before. As they take him to the hospital, we see Nate’s imaginations of his future with Cassie. They’re happy; they’re becoming parents and much more.
Cassie and Maddy both are worried about Nate. But Cassie is also worried about what will Maddy do when she finds out she hooked up with her ex. However, Cassie really wants love, and she can’t help herself from contacting Nate. In one scene, Cassie tells Maddy that she wants to be single but just can’t be. Maddy advises her that she should learn to say no even though she really wants to say yes.
Later, Nate texts Maddy thanking her for helping him. Maddy informs Cassie about Nate’s text which makes her jealous. Until Nate doesn’t contact Cassie, she’s a mess. Lexi wonders her sister is stressed because she’s single. But her mother points out that the outburst her daughter is having isn’t of a single person. Cassie calms down when Nate messages her that they’ll meet in a few days.
We also get some Rue and Jules moments in Euphoria Season 2 Episode 2 on Disney+. The two meet at the school a few days after the NY party and can’t stop kissing. However, the moment Rue sees Elliot; she freaks out. As a narrator, Rue says that Jules doesn’t know she’s doing drugs again and that too with Elliot. She also spent the last few days doing drugs with her new friend. As seen in the trailer, Jules-Rue-Elliot has an awkward conversation. Jules feels jealous of her girlfriend’s friendship with Elliot.
Nate’s father, Cal Jacobs, calls over Cassie and Lexi to ask them attacked his son at the party. The two kept saying they had no idea. However, Cal mentions something about ‘text history’ that freaks Cassie. Cassie tells Nate that they made a mistake by having sex in one of her messages. A scared Cassie ends up revealing Fez’s name, who attacked Nate. Fez’s business partner is in trouble as the cops look for Faye. Fez helps him by keeping Faye safe in his house for a few days.

We also see Kat and Ethan having some romantic moments together. However, Kat’s Game of Throne fantasy makes her realise that she doesn’t love Ethan. She tries to write pros and cons about her boyfriend. Kat finds out that Ethan has no cons, and the problem is her. She realises there’s a lot of self-hate inside her. Suddenly, there’s a big sequence of how everyone nowadays keeps preaching the idea of ‘self-love’ without realising that the person may be going through mental health issues.
Rue spends more time with Elliot and drugs. They have a deep conversation about Rue losing her father and what made her get into drugs. When Rue leaves, she’s baffled to see Cassie running towards Nate’s car. Rue meets Ali, who realises that she’s still not changed her habits. Nate takes Cassie to a secluded construction place. He tells her that they cannot continue seeing each other anymore. A distraught Cassie runs inside, and Nate follows. The two end up having sex.
Lexi visits Fez’s general store to talk to him. But she couldn’t say anything when she spotted Faye there. Cal follows Lexi with a gun, planning to shoot Fez. However, when he visits the store, he just buys the gum. When Cal reaches home, he asks Nate why Fez attacked him. Nate tells Cal that Jules told Rue about having sex with her and many young people. Rue told Fez as they’re friends. Cal is disturbed to hear the information. Nate informs that they have no idea his father used to shoot them having sex. When Cal asks if he has the tape, there’s silence.
Kat, Jules, Maddy and Ethan spend time together. Maddy talks to Jules about not finding the cute love that Kat and Ethan have. Maddy tells Jules that she is planning to get back to Nate. Maddy knows it is wrong, but she can’t help herself. Jules tells her not to do it, but Maddy seems to have made up her mind. We also get to see scenes of Maddy babysitting a boy named Theo. She loves her job because of the secret perks she enjoys.
So, Rue has a secret hidden from Jules. Cassie and Nate also hide a big truth about their secret affair from Maddy. Kat also hides from Ethan that she doesn’t love him. Today’s episode also hinted that Lexi and Fez have some spark that might take some time to ignite. Maddy has Cal’s big secret hidden, a tape of him sleeping with young someone.
Euphoria Season 2 Episode 2 Review: Final Thoughts
It’s just the second episode, and a LOT has happened. From the start till the end, it keeps engaging and surprising you. We can’t wait to find out which secretly comes out first. Absolutely, everyone’s life’s a mess, and there’s no hope that things will become all right anytime soon.
