Emma Myers, an emerging actress who made her breakthrough as Enid Sinclair in the Netflix series Wednesday, is getting noticed by a K-pop boy bands fandom, for all the good reasons. Myers was featured on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon where she shared her experience while preparing for her role as Enid and other things, including her favourite band.
When the Host Jimmy Fallon asked the name of the group, Myers calmly said ‘Seventeen’, which is a South Korean boy band formed by Pledis Entertainment and currently under Hybe Labels, which also includes BTS, TXT, NewJeans etc. The group consists of thirteen members – the first is leader S.Coups and the other members are Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino.
The first question that usually arises when someone hears the name ‘Seventeen’ is if there are actually 17 members. But Emma Myers clears the number confusion by explaining that the members are divided into 3 groups – vocal, dance & performance and hip-hop. So they have taken 13 members and added the internal 3 teams making it 16, but collectively they are one team, so adding 1 makes it 17; ie (13 members + 3 units + 1 group).
On further asking if she has a particular song that she would recommend to Jimmy Fallon, Myers suggested the song To You. It is the first track from the album Attacca, the ninth mini album by Seventeen. It was released on October 22, 2021, with Rock with you as the album’s title track. The song is co-written and composed by the member Woozi, who has been working on the group’s discography since their debut.
The song talks about how they are so grateful for their loved ones and wish to express their gratitude and love, each day to them. Lyrics literally translate to – If there’s an eternal love, then you’re that person and so on. The actress shared that she had been a fan of the group for the last five years and the fanbase, Carat is thrilled to have such a talented fellow fangirl in the fandom.
Considering it’s a B-side track, the song doesn’t have a music video but during their comeback show for the album, the group performed the song live and you can watch it right below.
